How do nurse hiring events work?

Nurses Job Hunt

Published

I was invited to come interview at a nurse hiring event for the Cleveland Clinic in Weston FL. I've never been to one of these before, so I don't know what to expect. I submitted my application online and then they called me a couple of days later to schedule my specific interview time. Can anyone give a little insight so I can fully prepare. I'm a new grad, so getting a chance to interview for telemetry and ICU position is a big deal for me. Especially since ICU is what I want to specialize in long term.

Its been a while but in my experience it was like a job fair with snacks, tables with information and representatives of different departments. It is an excellent opportunity to meet people and network even if a job doesn't result. I dressed really professionally and brought plenty of copies of my resume and references. It should be fun.

Bring copies of your resume, make a nursing portfolio, dress professional, smile and be yourself!

Thanks a bunch! This is my dream first job, so I plan on bringing my A game and going fully prepared. I was very surprised to even get a call to interview, so I'm going to knock their socks off with my personality and professionalism.
