fired then....group interview

Hello everyone, I was fired this month ,now I'm getting calls from the company to come back. (Different regions) I have a group interview coming up and I'm so nervous,being that my first time around I didn't get hired this way. I can't take another blow like this to my career if it doesn't work out. I'm starting to feel like I'm being "played" with.Has anyone done this type of interview before? How do I prepare?Thanks

Why were you fired? Does this new group know you were fired? Find out who will be at group interview. Who makes the hiring decision? The group may need to get to know you to give feedback to the manager about your fit. In psych group interviews fairly common in my experience. You may be asked about your professional background, why you want to work at the facility, other jobs you have had etc. Prepare like you would for an individual interview. And goodluck!!

Hello Psychcns, I was just told " we don't think you're a good match at this facility maybe you will do better in a specialties area" I'm as confused as you. I was marked eligible for re-hire though. I'm sooo appreciative for the second chance, however I think I'll just die if I don't get it:(

I imagine they have reviewed your HR record. They approached YOU, for an interview?

Lose the "I'll just die if I don't get it " attitude. It will show.

You MUST portray as much confidence as possible. Role play, take an acting lesson...

... anything to appear SUPREMELY confident.

They are already wondering why they gave you up.

Sometimes it really isn't a good match. For instance, I worked for an agency where the mother of a pediatric patient was extremely picky. She "fired" several nurses by contacting the agency and asking for someone "better". The agency liked the nurses, nothing wrong with their care etc..but the agency let them go from that particular job. Most of the nurses I knew were called back when other positions opened within the company. That may be what happened here.

I would not go back at all. I could not tolerate the stress I would be under every day waiting for the axe, should they rehire me. As a matter of fact, I was laid off in a downsizing. When the DON called me to come back, I was relieved to tell her thanks, but no thanks. Once you have treated an employee that way, you can never expect the same level of loyalty from that former employee.
