Exhaustion after interview

Nurses Job Hunt

Published

Today i had interview with the BOSS FROM HELL ( I work contract OHN for a company that went bankrupt x8 mos ).My hours were cut to zero as a result and now only work PRN in the company . I think i kicked ass in interview...it lasted maybe 15 mins...

1. Why do employers interview applicants when the last time i was working in the clinic...I was told by other contract nurse that HE GOT THE JOB bec he has COHN certification? Do employers just want to play THE ROLE bec of EEOC and dont want to be kicked by EEOC guidelines with regards to hiring applicants

2. Here are the interview questions

a. What are your goals 10 years from now?

b. How can our company help you?

c. What was your biggest difficulty working for this company?

d. Do you have problems making decisions?

e. Do you feel there is a difference between CONTRACT AND FULL TIME employees?

f. Considering our companys recent financial situation, why would you want to work for this company?

I dread the next few days.....I am optimistic and staying positive...Hoping I see light at the end of the tunnel....

Thanks for listening....I am so down today...We have snow up to our eyeballs...Cant go out and do some job hunt...

Oh my....no, no... Oh I cannot help myself....here are my answers:

a. What are your goals 10 years from now?

not being stuck in this hellhole, that'd for sure!

b. How can our company help you?

I need new shoes badly...offer me some... what'sa matter are you brain dead--hire me, NOW.

c. What was your biggest difficulty working for this company?

Uh, I haven't had any difficulties until I had to come here...

d. Do you have problems making decisions?

Uh, no.....deciding to try working for you is a tad bit better than starvation...

e. Do you feel there is a difference between CONTRACT AND FULL TIME employees?

Now that's just a silly question...I'm a nurse, we live to help others; salary, 401k, vacation, job security, medical, dental and vision insurance is immaterial to any nurse...and further I'm sure nobody at the jobsite will think the less of me because I'm not a REAL employee... *big smile*

f. Considering our company's recent financial situation, why would you want to work for this company?

Well, scuttlebutt on the street say that our management has learned so much over the past year that within two years we'll be one of the leading firms in the world...I'm surprised you asked.

I firmly deny that I wrote the above...

I had my very 1st interview last Friday and understand the exhaustion part . I was there interviewing for an 1hour and 15 minutes. This was at an LTC facility for a 7am to 7pm weekend shift. The last question was " What would you do if it was 6pm and you didn't get any procedures done?" I said "Well I guess I would have to stay over time and finish and then really give thought to how I need to change things to make sure I get all my work done." She said that what I should do is get in touch with the manager that stays on the other floor and ask her what I should do. When I got home the Ibuprophen was calling me. I am have a 2nd interview tomorrow.

The 2nd interview never happened. They called in the morning and told me not to come in. It was my 1st interview but I wasn't upset I was kind of relieved. I felt I wouldn't be happy there. So I am still looking, I actually am going to volunteer at a clinic and I started looking at local urgent care centers. I thought that would be an interesting job that I may enjoy. Just trying to stay positive!
