Makati medical center- cetn 2012

Hello, my fellow Filipino Nurses!

I'd like to talk about the CETN program in Makati Medical Center.

Last September, I was advised by a friend of mine who is currently a staff nurse in MMC, that they are already open for application for the CETN.

CETN is a training program for nurses who would like to work in MMC. This is NOT a direct hire post. Accepted applicants will go through 2-month training and then eventually, they COULD be absorbed/ hired as a staff.

This has been an on-going program in MMC for years now, but the difference this year, is that the nurses who get accepted will no longer pay the fee of 10,000 PHP.

The process that I went through started with submitting basic credentials like TOR, Board Certificate, and of course, your updated resume. They will screen the applicants from there, based on their board rating I guess, and the school you graduated from makes a big difference. You will be instructed to wait for their call, for usually 2 weeks.

In my case, they called within the week from my submission. I submitted my credentials on a Tuesday; they called me Friday that same week to invite me to come for the exam. The exam was scheduled the next Monday.

After the exam, you will undergo the initial interview. Mine was set 2 days after the exam which was a Wednesday. The initial interview consists of basic questions about yourself, your educational and work background (if any) and there are some personal questions too.

They instructed me to undergo medical examination that same day, and gave me a list of requirements to complete.

I completed the medical exam about 2 weeks after the initial interview. MEDICAL EXAM FOR CETN IS FREE. IT IS COVERED BY MMC. Should you withdraw your application though, they would require you to pay.

I was instructed to wait for a call/ text from HR regarding the schedule of my final interview; they texted 2 weeks after the completion of my medical exam.

The final interview went smoothly; it was a one on one encounter, not the usual panel interview. It lasted for 30 minutes. The questions were about nursing knowledge. They would evaluate how much you have retained and of course your application of that knowledge. Most of the questions were situational.

They called to inform me that I passed the final interview 2 weeks later. And asked me to wait for another call, as a go-signal to pass the requirements they asked me to complete earlier in the process. They also mentioned that the training would probably start in the first quarter of next year (2013), 2nd quarter would be the latest.

I asked a few questions, by the way, on that last conversation with HR. I asked whether we would be given an allowance or any compensation during training, how long the training would last and the probability and duration after training of getting hired.

They couldn't give me an exact answer regarding the allowance or compensation during training because they haven't finalized everything yet. The training would last 2 months and eventual hiring would depend on your performance and vacancies. All these would be evaluated first. According to my friend though, it will only take a week after training then they would call you right away for employment.

That was my experience. I'm still waiting now, they said they would probably call on the first week of January.

Please feel free to comment! I would appreciate more input regarding this. The forum I was following is already closed and I don't have any more resources. If you have any intel regarding the CETN program, please, please comment!

Hi Tinai, good luck with that. I am currently an RN HEALS trainee as well and I don't think I can manage to be in COPN and RN HEALS at the same time despite the less toxic routines in the Psych setting...well I know it still subjective but would you be able to ask for a specific schedule from your supervisors just to attend both COPN and RN HEALS at the same time? Well, I don't think I can handle both specially if I am an RN HEALS trainee in a medical hospital.

Hi! Mikeru22! I also don't think I can manage to do that because the workload from my RN heals training is toxic! And also the travel time, Makati is very far from QC. The CM from my dept. is very nice we can request schedules but I don't know if they will allow 1mo request :roflmao:so I'll just decide when the results are all out. :)

are they still accepting applicants? do you think i can apply?

They always accept applications.

Bring the following:

TOR

PRC LICENSE

BOARD RATING

HR Department, 6th floor tower 2 from 8am to 5pm weekdays

Hello. I am planning to apply in their training program. any update if they are still accepting trainees as of july 2013? may specific requirements ba like long brown envelope or white folder? thank you.

Sorry guys if i wasn't able to update you lately, just became busy for the past few months i mean REAL BUSY! BTW, for those who are new here i was one of those nurses who undergone this said program and now im already a probee nurse at MMC for almost 4 months now, the process is still the same (i think) you can read the previous comments for more details. And again to uplift your spirit guys, they are continually hiring according to a friend of mine who just got hired recently, as long a you passed the screening process, the training and most importantly if you have the RIGHT ATTITUDE. They are very particular when in comes to attitude, trust me guys, I had a co-trainee who happens to be a topnotcher from one of the top performing nursing schools and yet he was not hired because of attitude problem, So Im sorry to say but if you have attitude problems fix it as early as now :) Good luck and God bless everyone :)

...I agree with episiotomy about the attitude. They believe that skills and knowledge can be taught in the floors, but the right attitude has to come from the trainee.

It was our last day and at the same time graduation day last June 12, 2013. I hope and pray that we get absorbed too. :saint:

hi. i just want to ask, when will be the start for the next batch of training in makati med. unfortunately, i've already passed my resume in every hospital in metro manila and you name it but no calls yet from them. I just want to apply in a hospital even if there will be a training fee but there's a chance to be absorbed. May I ask what are the hospitals conducting trainings and there's a tendency to be absorbed?

Im on my way to MMC to pass my application. I will ask when is the next training schedule then.

Peace out!

That I'm not sure. I hear they're already processing the next batch of applicants.

St. Luke's offers PGNT for 10K, there's a chance to be absorbed.

I don't know about the others. I think almost all hospitals get their staff nurses from their trainees/RNheals.

Goodluck and May God Bless us All! :saint:

Hi! I received a text from them last Wednesday I was surprised because I passed my requirements to them last year and I wasn't really hopeful for it and I finished exam and initial interview today and my interviewer said that I will wait within 1 month for the result. I am a worried if I passed it because when she interviewed me I didn't able to speak continuous English. :x3: I need is to pray pray pray. :nailbiting:
