Taking the NCLEX in MANILA (Help please)

World Philippines

Published

I've been trying to have an appointment for the nclex exam online but a note keeps on popping up telling me that i have to call the pearsonvue exam center to make an appointment for the exam. Did somebody else had this kind of experience? Did you actually call the testing center in order for you to have your appointment for the exam?

By the way i have already registered at pearsonvue and i have already my ATT. I wish to take the exam in the Philippines, there in Makati City. I'm just having problems making an appointment. Please help me out.

Thank you verymuch.

The most important things you should bring are:

ATT

Passport with signature

Additional ID (in case there is confusion regarding name)

Anything else you will need to ask the testing center directly.

They do not permit study materials but I am uncertain about non-study items and what is not permitted.

If I were in your shoes though I would want to only focus on the monitor so I would bring in the absolute minimum. Maybe a few blank sheets of paper and a pencil/pen to do some think-throughs (I think better when I'm writing options and reasoning them out on paper).

hello.. I already received an eligibility letter from the BON in Ca.

It is stated in the letter that an ATT is valid for one year period.

Below it is also noted that "Your file will become inactive and will be destroyed if you do not register and test with Pearson Vue within two years from the date of this eligibility letter."

My questions are:

1. Is ATT different from the eligiblity letter i received or is it the same thing?

2. If not, how can i secure an ATT, is it by following the next step on the letter.. to register with pearson vue?

3. Just to clarify.. eligibility will expire after two years , ATT is after a year?

ATT is different from eligibility. To get ATT you need to register and pay pearsonvue and they will send you ATT

Eligibility - this is issued by the board of nursing to inform you, the candidate, that you've met the requirements of the state. Some BON will just email you that you can now register with Pearsonvue.

Pearsonvue Registration - You may do this online. Regsiter at Pearsonvue (www.pearsonvue.com\nclex), this is a private company that administers the NCLEX. You will have to pay $200 for this (credit card)

ATT - once you have registered & paid, Pearsonvue office will contact the board to verify your eligibility. Once the board confirmed that, PearsonVue will issue you an ATT (Authority to Test). This can be released in as fast as 24 hours.

In this process, there are 3 activities that will have different expiration periods:

Eligibility - can be from as short as 90 days to 2 years, depending on the state

Pearsonvue Regsitration - valid for 1 year

ATT - can be from as short as 90 days, depending on the state

You only have an eligibility letter right now, the ATT must be registered through Pearson Vue. If you have a credit card then you can do it yourself on the website, if not then you can use the services of an NCLEX application center to do it for you.

Then after getting ATT you have to schedule the exam, again you can use the services of an NCLEX application center.

Many nurses who have credit cards still choose to use application center services to make sure it is done correctly and in a timely fashion.

I have to ask with retrogression what is the rush? The process for a US nurse is the same once they get permission to test.

Why do you like to give the impression the Pinoy nurses are not competent to complete this. So many have already passed the NCLEX, why can't they ask a friend who completed this process without incident ? Isn't that common sense?:

Thanks...

Is there any cheap hotels near trident towers that you can recommend? How much would it cost me per day?

Thanks again..

There are cheap hotels around the testing site, but im referring to the quality, not the fare :D But there are a lot of pensionne houses in Vito Cruz extension and Kamagong, which are the nearest residential/commercial area from Trident Towers. I think price starts at PhP 1,500.

Goodluck!

Getting help with ATT and scheduling the exam has nothing to do with competancy.. if you'd actually read my statement you would understand that.

FACT is that very few Pinoy nurses have credit cards or can afford the international phone calls to do the scheduling.

Pinoy nurses frequently need assistance to get this done quickly because the mail route is very problematic and takes far too long to get a response. We have seen instances where nurses have sent the information via mail and never hear a response and have to spend a lot of money in international phone calls to get the confirmation as to whether or not they are actually able to take the exam.

Pinoy nurses are not stupid and nobody (well at least not me) is insinuating that they are... this is recognition of the fact that there are challenges that Pinoy nurses face which Pearson Vue and NCSBN as well as others are completely blind and ambivelant to.

I am Filipino and I understand what you mean. I didn't read the whole forum. Anyway, I employed the help of NEAC Exam Application Center (located in Espana near UST) to help me process my CVS, NY Eligibility and NCLEX.

is person vue any different from international testing which is the required registration center for those wanting to take illinois licensure exam?

Pearsonvue are I believe the only company authorised to issue NCLEX to candidates that have been given eligibility from the state nursing boards

Anyone taking the NCLEX anytime in October or November? I haven't received my eligibility yet, but I'm expecting it soon. How's the schedule? There's a rumor that the testing center is backed up for months. Is that true?
