Is it okay to take the masters in nursing after i pass the nclex? I mean, am i supposed or required to have a job experience first before taking masterals?

and will it be okay if i study masters in a different country?

Where in the nursing education are you ?

I suspect the Philippines as that is the only country I have heard using this term

i'm planning to take MSN in the Philippines

yes, Philippines.

Hi, regarding to that matter, I also have a question guys. I recently graduated from my MSN major in Administration and Supervision. I'm planning to take my NCLEX exam and apply for a job in the US. I am just wondering if I'm qualified for H1B visa sponsorship? or just an EB3 visa? I really want to work in the US but the retrogression for EB3 is still far from the current date (in case my priority date will be in 2016?) That's why I'm curious about the H1b visa, since it is always current tho there's a cap limit for that. Also a friend of mine told me that the H1B visa sponsorship is "currently ON HOLD" allegedly because of the election period in US, is this true?? Thank you in advance!:)

H1b is you can find employer willing to pay $$$$ then it may be an option but your qualification has to match the job. Not many nurses get H1b. This visa is usually capped and released April 1st with Oct interview. Visa allocation is usually gone in hours of being released.

Oh i see, Thanks a lot!

Of course you can, a lot of my classmates (in the Philippines) did that, like right after passing local boards and NCLEX but the questions is, will it be sufficient or equivalent to US MSN education?

Really? May i know what their area of concentration (in MSN) is? Having said that, were they able to qualify for such visa (H1B) and enter the US by that? I'm so frustrated on what to do next after i finished my post grad degree. Well of course i will take the nclex first but i do not know what to do after passing nclex tho. Thanks in advance! :)

Maybe you can get in contact with your classmates or have your other contacts get in touch with them to ask about the MSN equivency ? Via emails or FB?

Maybe also ask them what state's they are in? Also, if they got the H1B?

I believe that you need to have a minimum amount of year's of experience within your specialty to qualify for the H1B, new grads do not meet the criteria. H1B's visas for nurses are getting smaller and smaller each year. Look at their last two year's for nursing visas granted, the limitation has shifted to give more for IT professionals.
