I was just wondering if any one has received a response from SLMC GC about the schedule of PGNT1 for batch 2? I already have submitted my requirements and I have paid the initial training fee just recently but I haven't received any text message yet about the schedule of the training. I am just a bit worried because I received a call from a number I don't recognize on Friday about 5:30 AM and I wasn't able to answer it. SLMC told me that the training will probably start last Friday but then again I haven't received any text message from them. I hope the number is not theirs and that the training will start soon. :|

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

Abroad salary and benefits is quite high let me give you an example, in Canada nurses gets payed at 45$/hr and at least 70k$ salary annually. Comparing the salary to the grade 15 salary in the Philippines is still far.

Depends on the province and experience to what your starting $$ is

Yes, there's a 3 year bond in this institution. But you can withdraw anytime if your still on a probationary status that will last up to 6 months. Some of the reasons for the high turnover rate: can't handle stress(burned-out), you realized that you're not into nursing, you're not yet ready, and... the grass is greener on the other side of the globe ;)

Thanks for that wonderful information regarding the withdrawal in probi, I hope there will be no damage fee or synonymous to that if someone withdraw prior to permanency. Nursing is much of a vocation rather than a money making job. If one wants to earn huge money it's no clandestine that BPO, marketing and networking, stock market and forex will give you a better chance of obtaining huge amount of money in just matter of minute. About the burned-out situation I would say it is indeed normal, I my self experienced that a lot and even tried 3 nurses:250 patients yet we can manage the situation, just remain calm and enjoy what you are doing.

Some of us withdrew before being a staff because we do not want the unit that we are in. You are right, nursing is really a vocation, if you do not have the heart you really can't survive being a nurse. I'm glad you did. I quit because I was exhausted and not yet ready to dive into reality so i take a hiatus. Unluckily, after so many months of enjoying my so-called freedom from this field, I realized that I still wanted to become a nurse.. just a piece of advise to those st.luke's hopefuls, have a straight mindset in what you want and never ever give-up. In our batch, almost half of us didn't even pursue. Some were happy in their newly chosen career, and some were like me... still wanted to pursue a career in nursing.. in another institution *cross-fingers*. Actually, there is a damage fee if you withdraw your contract. You will pay for the training, the certificates and the like.

hi pls04!! :)) haha, we're both active in this forum eh? :))

@datablitz hi! SLMC-GC..

Oh Thanks!

I am indeed active to this forum and other forums specially regarding cars.

Reading forums is a nice thing because it enhances ones knowledge and vocabulary.

I see so GC start will be on Monday? I submitted mine last June, well I hope they call me next year for training.

BGC. A friend of mine if what I heard was right, told me that the QC batch is in somewhat pending regarding the training. But the processing of applicants are continuous.
