Good day,

Hello! I`m a Bachelor of Science in Nursing graduate from the Philippines. Unluckily I didn`t passed my board exam in the Philippines. I`m now here in Nova Scotia, Canada with my credentials (Nursing Diploma and Transcript of Records) with me. I`m a landed immigrant by the way after my father get a chance to get me. Can I still have a chance to be an LPN here or RN if ever. Would you recommend what should I do? Hope you can help! Thanks a lot and More Power to all on the Health Care Field.

thanks a lot dishes. hope we can get over of this.

hi guys! is this thread still active? lm in BC for a month now and was informed by a former nurse in Manila that l have to study again even as LPN with or WITHOUT a Philippine license. lm planning to go back to Manila to take my local board there for December but now lm thinking twice. Will verify with the CLPNBC though.

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

Definitely check with the college as generally Canada requires a license in the country you trained

I believe the common solution that most find is to take the LPN course without any reference to the course they took in the Philippines and therefore start over from scratch. Really sad to see it since it means the nursing education in the Philippines was pretty much wasted.

I received a reply from the CLPNBC which I quoted ''Yes, you can still apply for assessment without those forms. Your assessment will be based on the ICES report''.

Please take note that the forms that she is referring to is the verification of registration and employment and role verification which I both don't have. Hope I don't need to study all over again after the assessment. Hope I'm able to enlighten others with the same issue. Goodluck to us all. And if nursing is for us. It will eventually be ;).
