Nursing Graduate from Phil

Published

Good day,

Hello! I`m a Bachelor of Science in Nursing graduate from the Philippines. Unluckily I didn`t passed my board exam in the Philippines. I`m now here in Nova Scotia, Canada with my credentials (Nursing Diploma and Transcript of Records) with me. I`m a landed immigrant by the way after my father get a chance to get me. Can I still have a chance to be an LPN here or RN if ever. Would you recommend what should I do? Hope you can help! Thanks a lot and More Power to all on the Health Care Field.

The only ones to make the decision is the colleges of RN and LPN in regards to meeting requirements, then you will need to sit and pass exam then find a job. Generally one of the requirements is a local exam which you say you haven't passed

so there is no other way to be an LPN here in Canada? :( (coz the req. is local exam you mean.)

how sir? i think that's a good idea..

@philgraduatenurse Im in the same predicament as u are. I failed the NLE twice and thinking to be an LPN in BC (local registration is not required, according to the site). I jst wanted to know if anyone here goes through with the same procedure. ty in advance.

Hi there. My husband and I also arrived in Nova Scotia a few months ago from the Philippines. I'm an RN and he's an LPN, and one of the requirements that we submitted as part of the licensing process is verification of registration as a nurse in the Philippines.

i feel you netyami.. (after all of the four years we studied nursing in the philippines,, we don't just wanna give it up.. we try to find ways to be up there by all means,, with flying colors and respect esp. to those filipino who sees themselves as a superior. hope others could really help us. Thanks a lot in advance.)

Is there any other way apol21?? coz i don't think we can make it a risk going back to the phil. just to take the board. hope you get what i mean..

That is something you need to take up with the college especailly seeing as there is no exam in the Philippines for LPN

i looked at the CNO application, but they are looking for a license, employment history related to nursing. so i dont think, we, who doesnt have a local license can apply to ontario board. Is there anyone succeeded in the CRNE without a license?

Someone suggested to be a health worker instead coz its gloomy for us- who didnt took our local boards and pass it- to sit on a RN or RPN exam. but it does not discourage me. I know that there are ways for us to take the exam and be a license nurse.

does anyone know what province does not ask for a local license (Philippines NLE)?

I seriously doubt any province will not require a local license but really only way is to look and a list of colleges can be found at the bottom of the Canadian forum
