Had my consular interview but dox under review

I had my interview last week but I was given a 221g letter stating that my documents will still be reviewed by them and will just receive a letter regarding the result. I have given them all docs that the consul needed. For me, I answered the consul's questions quite well. Actually there were two of them so I think one is some sort of a trainee. I was not asked for any additional docs either. The consul didnt even inform me that my case has to be reviewed. By the end of the interview, she just asked me to take my seat and wait for my number to be called.

At releasing ( when I thought everything was ok) the lady told me about the 221g letter and gave me the pink slip. she said that I will just pay for the courier service just in case the consul decides to send the visa without a second interview.

To all who have undergone this same frustrating experience, please kindly tell me how long it took you to be called for interview or got your visas.

Thank you

I had my interview 2 weeks ago and we were given a pink slip,a white paper with enumerated instruction with check to wait for further instruction and ask to pay for the courier.I still dont have my visa, called up the embassy and they say that they are still processing.I dont know what is the problem, they did not ask for any additional documents.[pls advice]

Have either of you passed the NCLEX-RN exam or were being petitioned based on the CGFNS exam?

There have been some issues lately with some agencies that have done petitioning for nurses and have not followed thru on what they were supposed to do, such as have work for them, apply for licensure before the nurse arrived in the US, or even having work for them whenb they arrived. And if it was for one of these agencies, the Embassy is being quite strict on issuing visas.

It may have something to do with your NBI clearance (there's a set validity), or NSO-certified documents, or certain vague info in your updated DS230, etc. But it is definitely NOT with non availabilty of NCLEX scores.

Had our interview last week with a very strict consul and just got our visas the other day. I'll take the nclex in the US and was never an issue in the whole process. Some friends who also went through the interview with the embassy very recently have no problems with that either.

Just continue following up with the embassy and the delbros website/text hotline. All the best!

Sorry, but that is not true. There have been some that are getting denied or held up at the last minute, especially if they have signed with one of a couple of agencies out of NY. US Embassy is requiring that they show NCLEX proof of passing because of all of the problems that have been coming up, as well as the lawsuits in progress. They are trying to stop the agencies from taking advantage of the nurse. If you have bothered to do a search on this, you would be aware that there have been several that have been bringing nurses over, but have never filed with the state for licensure for them, and NY requires the CVS, I am sure that you are aware of that. Which means that the nurse can spend six to eight months in NY without any work, or making $7 per hour, which is less than what you can make working at Mc Donalds.

I am standing by what I said above.

Thanks for your reply. yes i have passed my licensure exam but was able to present only a photocopy of the letter from the state board as the original was lost in transit. nbi is original and still valid. NSo certificates all in security paper.

Thank you for the reply suzane.I hav my visa screen for cgfns and passed my nclex.I dont think my agency got any problem 'cause some of the applicant from the same agency interviewed on the same day as mine got their visa.Is it possible that the Ds230 of my dependents submitted and paid on the day of interview cause the delay?

Thanks for your concern and replies. I am sharing my actual, first hand experience as a very recent applicant who actually went through the consular interview process only last July 13, 2006. I received my visa July 19 and have the documents to prove it. I can even scan my visa if you want proof and check it out if I did my nclex already.

You may also check other forum regulars here who went through the experience (meaning first hand experience not 2nd hand info) who are not done with nclex but encountered no problems with the consular interview. I also stand by with what I've said because I know I'm telling the truth, it happened to me personally and I have my papers to back me up.

It seems we have the same case. Can I have your email ad? I think it would be best that we inform each other in case there is a progress. For our peace of mind. Thanks.

Bax_tan,I am new here, cld you just be the one to send me your email

My experience is that i had my interview date last June 26. The job offer letter that i presented has an RN salary rate only. The consul require me to submit a job offer letter with PRE and POST RN salary rate since i have not taken the nclex yet, and they let me pay the courier.. I have already submitted the lacking documents last july 10. With the issues that where posted, does it mean i might not receive a visa unless i take the nclex? But i have my friends who had their visas with jst a Visascreen certificate with CGFNS only.. What do u think? I am worried if i will receive my visa..tnx
