and maybe they could help me also.

mga pinoys and pinays...hope u could find time of sharing your stories here...

thank you...god bless..

hey! ho!

im based here in britain(british r.n.),

planning to move to america,

passed the cgfns, toefl, tse! (w/ flying colors)

then got denied of a visa to go to us :crying2:

is nclex being offered outside u.s?

i dont think so! :uhoh3:

what can i do? :uhoh21:

is there somebody out there who could help me? :o

Currently, the only places where NCLEX is being offered is in the US. It is also offered in the US Territories.

Have you filed for the Visa Screen Certificate? If you get that, then you would be applying for a different type of visa. You are able to apply for a green card without NCLEX, if you have taken TOEFL. BUT, it also depends on why you were denied a tourist visa.

Hope that this helps.......... :balloons:

hello neriners,

i am sorry about your situation. It is such a dilemma in your situation because you do have kids to support. Suzanne is the expert on this one. But I do have a question, what did the agency require of your experience? does it manner how much hospital experience you have, kase yung nakikita ko here, yung mga bagong dating...they get trained from scratch...like a new grad RN. I guess it depends on the sponsoring hospital requirements, I would imagine they pass this qualifying requirements on their "head-hunters or professional agencies". I wish you luck...and dont ever give up on your hopes and dreams. Mind you, when I first came to the states years ago...Comp Sec lang kase ang course ko sa pinas, wala akong makita na work...high school kids do that here kase (comp sec responsibilities). So nag wash nalang ako ng dishes. I never gave up on my dreams. Life in the US is hard...but very rewarding. You will meet alot of people who will try to break you and make you feel stupid. But you have to learn to stand on your own terms, and be strong. God Bless.

Right now this is a very common problem out of the UK. Have you applied for Visa Screen? You don't mention anything about it................if you haven't, you need to do that right away. With the Visa Screen Certificate, you are able to apply for a green card since you have already completed the exams. At this point I would go ahead and apply for a job and get that paperwork started. Depending on where you are interested in settling, it could take you over a year to get things done. Visa Screen Certificate is taking about 6 months on average, so get started on everything. If you pick something on the East coast-------very quick. California could be 12-18 months..........if you haven't completed visa screen. I wouldn't concern myself with taking NCLEX right now, get everything else completed.

ya! i'l sort that out (visa screen).

by the way, i'v been doing nursing here in britain

for quiet awhile, in south wales, specializing in cardio,

in a huge hospital 1000 bed capacity (yes, it does exists)

acute medical set-up, imagine that, u'l be crawling down the street on your way home:rotfl:

well, it isnt that bad here, i could see myself staying here

longer, but you see, i would like to try america, and see nursing in a bigger prospective.

im just wondering ????? what are u doing there in bangkok

I own a school and teach "Conversational English for Healthcare Providers."

It is the first and only school of its type in the Kingdom. I also prepare nurses that wish to go abroad to work or further their studies.

Thanks for asking............. :balloons:

Suzanne,

Hi! This is kyut, I just wanted to ask your opinion about something. I was supposed to originally get a new grad RN training in frisco in july 2004, but since this pregnancy came up, I am afraid of discrimination against me. Please put your two cents in. I'd appreciate it very much.

Ria

It is illegal in the US to discriminate against someone because they are pregnant. Many nurses are pregnant when they start. I wouldn't worry about it. What specialty are you going into?

Good luck to you and your little one... :balloons: ..............look on the bright side, the child will be born in the US and not have to deal with immigration issues.

One way of looking at it. BUT one thing to take into consideration is that you are pregnant and will be so before starting your new position, so you may not be covered for the delivery. It is considered a pre-existing condition.. :uhoh21:

Hope that this helps.............. :balloons:
