Flight Nurse/Paramedic for Angels of Flight Canada Inc. thru D'Boons Manpower Service

Good day!

I would like to start this conversation with those who also applied as a Flight Nurse/Paramedic for Angels of Flight Canada Inc. like me. I feel unsure if it is legit.

I've learned the opening through Jobstreet website last July 25, 2014 under the company name of Nice Green Consultancy and click the Apply button. I got a text message yesterday (July 28, 2014) stating that there are only 8 slots left for the position of flight nurse and also to check my e-mail for detailed information. The e-mail is 6 pages consisting all the information that I think I needed. I followed the recruitment process which is to call the landline number given to check for slot availability. The man on the other line said that there are 2 slots left and told me to text them my full name for slot reservation. The reservation is temporary and valid for 1 hour unless I paid the said amount for the Seminar.

D'Boons Manpower services is the affiliated consultancy firm of Angels of Flight Canada Inc. here in the Philippines in which who will conduct the said Seminar. I checked at the DOLE website if the said firm is license and legal and yes it is registered.

My question is these:

1. Is D'Boons Manpower allowed to deploy nurses?

It is not registered in the POEA but as what they told me they are consultancy firm that's why they are not in the list of POEA and the visa, work permit will be process by the employer but I'm not really sure if it's true.

2. Why did Angels of Flight Canada Inc. website announced this?

" Please note .July 27, 2014 .

We are currently not hiring any nurses or paramedics for the PHILLIPINES. "

3. are there other nurses/applicant who also followed the process?

I want to have a conversation with someone who also applied for this.

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

It is a shame that there are people still doing these scams and that some people are so desperate to follow through without doing proper research. I hope people start spreading the word about these scams and that people start researching before paying money either themselves or family do not have. Governments should be taking action otherwise we will never see the end of this and all that will change will be the country the scam is offering

Pls don't be so harsh on us. You aren't living in our country. You aren't the one who received the e-mail. We have different situations. Have you read the e-mail? Victims should be helped not criticized. I'm not starting a fight here. I was hurt with what you said. Please respect the feelings of the victims. We need info and advice not judgement or labels.

There is a thing called caveat emptor or buyer beware. It means use due diligence and check out things for yourself.

Yes, I am aware of the situation in your homeland.

There are constant posts here about various employment "offers" on these boards posted by your countrymen. They are usually first time posters. It makes me wonder how they found this website when they haven't spent the time to look at the STARS or other supposed recruiters websites. If they did look at the websites of these employers they would then be able to see what the company does, what their vacancies are like and then be able to make their minds on these supposed opportunities.

Instead, we see people want to pay someone to get them a job. That's not the way of the Canadian, American, and UK job markets.

I was also scammed by this Flight Nurse posting from Jobstreet. Paid the seminar fee after checking the Stars Canada site and the manpower services listed on the email. After sending my payment on July 31 via Western Union, I tried to contact the agency to request for further information. A man answered the phone and when I was starting to sound frustrated because I was not getting any worthy response he gave me a heavy sigh and all I heard was typing sounds. I tried contacting the numbers again and no one picked up the phone. I came accross this forum today and realized I was a victim of this scam.

Actually i didnt pay any cent here...i wrote that just to inform that i received also the same email w/ different agency and to inform that they using the name of ceo of stars.ca. we're here to inform and help each other not to judge....

I had the same experience. I got fascinated with all that they've said on the e-mail I received not knowing that payment will be the end of it. I sent my payment on August 2 at 3pm and I realized that it's a scam the day after I paid, too late to hold my remittance. All I was able to do is to warn the LBC that 3,750-Andrea Robertson Remittance is a scam thing. I knew from the LBC personnel that the money was claimed at Earnshaw Sampaloc,Manila. :(

Specializes in Complex pedi to LTC/SA & now a manager.

And now STARS.ca has a warning on their website for those who do their research

Alert: Fraudulent recruitment emails and ads bearing our organization's name are circulating. These offers are not legitimate and are in no way affiliated with the Shock Trauma Air Rescue Society (STARS) in Canada. STARS is not currently recruiting for these roles, and our organization does not hold any sort of recruitment seminars, either in the Philippines, or in any other country. If you feel it is necessary, we would encourage you to alert your local law enforcement about these messages you have received. If you have any further questions regarding job postings you have seen, please do not hesitate to contact us.

I received that email from stars bec i emailed them regarding the scam and asking them if the offer is legit and they replied, so they also post the warning on their site...i hope that this kind scam would end soon....

I received such kind of e-mail scams. I almost paid them with the money they require for the Visa Screening orientation. Really, the offer was so good to be true and they're having this limited slots scheme to lure nurses. Thank God I didn't pay right away. Instead I checked it with DOLE first and asked them if the agency is registered. I found out that BEAREECE Manpower Agency (name of agency) is not licensed at all. I also contacted Singapore University Hospital (they are the employer as per agency's info) and they said they are not currently hiring nurses nor sponsoring trainings and visa assistance. Upon learning this, I immediately reported this at POEA for legal action. So please beware my fellow nurses especially fresh graduates. :)

I hope we can get our money back.

Recently, i applied also for the royal carribean cruise under this agency. As what everybody said here at first i also thought that this is legit so i paid the said amount thru lbc and i recieved a message from them telling me to wait for their further updates about the maps and direction for the seminar. So i waited but nothing happen so i decided to call in thßeir office using the landline number that they gave. Im just asking few questions relevant to the said seminar in a very nice manner when suddenly the man in other line told me" na WAG MAKULIT" and hang up. I was surprise and disappointed. So if we can do something to stop this and get our money back i am very much willing to cooperate.

i am also a victim of this scam..
