Flight Nurse/Paramedic for Angels of Flight Canada Inc. thru D'Boons Manpower Service

Good day!

I would like to start this conversation with those who also applied as a Flight Nurse/Paramedic for Angels of Flight Canada Inc. like me. I feel unsure if it is legit.

I've learned the opening through Jobstreet website last July 25, 2014 under the company name of Nice Green Consultancy and click the Apply button. I got a text message yesterday (July 28, 2014) stating that there are only 8 slots left for the position of flight nurse and also to check my e-mail for detailed information. The e-mail is 6 pages consisting all the information that I think I needed. I followed the recruitment process which is to call the landline number given to check for slot availability. The man on the other line said that there are 2 slots left and told me to text them my full name for slot reservation. The reservation is temporary and valid for 1 hour unless I paid the said amount for the Seminar.

D'Boons Manpower services is the affiliated consultancy firm of Angels of Flight Canada Inc. here in the Philippines in which who will conduct the said Seminar. I checked at the DOLE website if the said firm is license and legal and yes it is registered.

My question is these:

1. Is D'Boons Manpower allowed to deploy nurses?

It is not registered in the POEA but as what they told me they are consultancy firm that's why they are not in the list of POEA and the visa, work permit will be process by the employer but I'm not really sure if it's true.

2. Why did Angels of Flight Canada Inc. website announced this?

" Please note .July 27, 2014 .

We are currently not hiring any nurses or paramedics for the PHILLIPINES. "

3. are there other nurses/applicant who also followed the process?

I want to have a conversation with someone who also applied for this.

I also received this email and followed their process. Now that im asking for the direction and contract, they are ignoring me.

What do you think we can do to stop this and get our money back?

Hi guys. So tried to check if this was legit or fraud. And sad to know that it is I think a fraud base from you guys have said. So sad that I spent an amount I have been keeping for a long time. Why was this on jonstreet anyway? I hope we can do somthing about this. They're full of *****. :( my dreams have been shattered. :(

Hi, I didn’t apply on this but I just want to share with you my experience regarding this scam.

Months ago, I have received the same thing 3 or 4 times. 4 different hospitals from Canada, dubai, Singapore, and mount alvernia. A text regarding the slot availability and a lengthy email about these hospitals hiring staff nurses abroad. I didn’t apply to any of these so how come they are texting me…. It seems so true due to the very detailed manner of explaining the hiring process. But, I just ignore it because I am seeking more for local employment. By the way, I send my application thru jobstreet also but I am applying for local positions and not abroad.

At the 4th time they had texted me again, I got curious and searched for it. Only then, that I have found that this is a scam. I searched for the company/hospital, it seems so legit. I have googlemapped also the address of where the seminars/training will be taken place; I have found out that it doesn’t exist.

My advice is for us nurses to search it totally before applying for it. I mean search every detail that they say on their email. I have read some testimonies on other sites about this scam. And I have learned that the job offer is already a scam when they charge training fees and you pay for it without meeting them PERSONALLY.

We can’t stop these scams because I think it is still continuous and unstoppable but we should be able to discern it to prevent wasting money and hope.

My boyfriend was also a victim. I feel so bad about it because I feel like it's my fault. I received the email from jobstreet about the job opportunity and I shared it to him. I even sent his resume to the agency hoping that it was true and I got excited about the immediate reply that he is qualified. I told him about it and so he followed all the instructions given . i checked the names of the agency, it was registered but not with poea. I really feel bad about it. Is there a way you all can get your money back?

Sadly probably not...I'm sorry this happened to you. In the US we have consumer laws that protect against scams. Even then scam artists rip people off ALL the time.

They are praying on innocent victims who desperately want a job opportunity. BUYER BEWARE.

I hope we can get our money back.

It was really sad to here all these

If there's a way we can all let them pay for what they did, please post it here. This is such a terrible experience for us. Heart breaking. :(

To a certain extent, you set yourselves up for these scams. Posts all over various internet forums wanting information on the best way to get anywhere but where you are.

Internet sharks see you and your desperation and bait is dropped and many of you bite without stopping to think "why are no nurses in x,y, or z western nation taking these jobs" or "hang on, they want me and my skills, why do I have to pay them??"

Yes, it is a terrible experience for you but nursing is not a golden ticket and it's not an automatic pass to another country.

Hi!

Please be aware that (i think) the one posting/offering jobs as flight nurse is using another ambulance company in Canda which is STARS CANADA. They emailed me again the "edited" six pages details regarding the job offered.

They should be stopped!
