Any update on when nclex will start here in Philippines?

the best place to check for updates would be the pearsonvue website

Dont give up hope yet on NCLEX in the Phil.s! I think that they are still trying to find the right vendor to work with here in the Phil.s

I learned that a couple of months ago I was interviewed by a co. that was participating in an RFP ( Req. for Proposal) that was sent to service companies ( By Pearson Vue I beleive) that currently provide testing services for US regulated liscences (e.g. the testing service that provides tests for A & P(Aircraft and Powerplant) mechanics for the FAA ( Federal Aviation Autority - a US Gov. body ) here in the Philippines.

One of these companies had tried to recruit some Nurse consultants and even Doctors to be part of their RFP bid team. Though I interviewed for the job, where they breifed me about what they were looking for, my family situation did not favor pursuing this line.

I so that activity as "some sign" that NCLEX wasstill working through its RFP etc. These things do take time as the co. I interviewed with shared especialy where US Homeland security etc. and US govt. regulations are enforced. For whatever this bit of info is worth...

I have been very aware of how things are done when they are looking for a center.............things right now are not moving the way that they should be if it was definite for a center to open during a specific time. Things would have happened already. There has not been one thing posted about the center since February 20, 2007.

Remember that they posted about the center and then CGFNS came out with their statement one week later. Until this NLE is done and no issues with any type of cheating are verified, there will be no center in Manila.

Many of the nurses from the Philippines that I work with and they have been here for years in the US do not want to see a center open there. And I do not either. Seoul, Korea has had their center placed on hold because of cheating issues and that was just with three docuemented nurses that took the exam. We are all very aware what has been going on in Manila with the review centers for the NCLEX exam and how several of them operate. They are doing the same things that closed down the Seoul center. So please, be realistic. Until there is a completely clean slate with this NLE exam, do not expect to see a center in Manila anytime soon.

We just saw what happened with the elections there a few weeks ago. The US was there and observing, and could not do anything about it. But they can certainly have a say in those that wish to work here and how they are tested.

I am happy that NCLEX will be done here.. (sometime in the far future)but be only leading to more clues on how cheating will be seen all over the world .

When Will It Be?this Coming Months?

Pearsonvue's hiring Test Administrators from Manila Bulletin today.

Until actual word comes out about this NLE exam that was just completed, nothing is going to be done. Just because they are looking for employees for a center does not mean that it will be opening for sure. Or even when?

Remember that anytime a foreign center has opened in the past, the official date that it would start taking appts was usually posted three months out, and then another three months for them to get all of the slots filled first. Test Administrators means nothing at this point.

With all of the issues that have been going on, and even the center in Korea on hold, not looking forward to a center in Manila. Think that is is actually going to be a bad idea, and not a good thing. And if it does happen to open, do not expect it to last, especially with the review centers still open from last year that are still being investigated.

And with immigration fees almost doubling at the end of this month, it is also going to be much harder to get a petitioner that will even consider paying those fees. Especially with the way that some have been walking from contracts. You are going to be seeing significant changes all around and specifically changes to contracts that were already signed, if the fees have not been completely paid already.

I stand corrected. Maybe, the Test Administrators are for the ASCP's (American Society of Clinical Pathologists) recently approved (June 1, 2007) California Licensure exam here in Manila and Cebu w/c will be conducted under Pearson VUE Professional Centers. It could be other exams as well.

some of my students are finding this out the hard way.

they are having difficulty finding agencies willing to petition them.

most agencies, if not all, require 2 years of hospital experience. and this does not guarantee the nurse will be petitioned.

with some organizations petitioning to shut down sentosa, i wonder how the other agencies will react.

i feel sad, things can only get much harder.

lets just pray for it, lets not talk more because of the cheating happend here, it was settled already lets just hope that the site will open soon.

We have stated over and over again, that until Pearson-Vue posts something on their website, nothing is written in stone. And if and when they do post something, as they have done in the past, it will state that the center will be opening on such and such date, and that comes out about three months before they even accept appointments, and then another three months for it to open.

So for any of you that have ATTs, this will not be a viable answer for you. Do not expect to see anything open and functional before holiday season at the end of the year. It is already going to be July next week. And there still has not been one thing on the PV website since their only post on February 20.
