US to Canada with DUI

I've been looking into moving to Canada from the US for romance of course and I've found a lot of information about the process however I received a DUI charge in 2008 in the US and I'm not sure of how that affects my chances of getting a Canadian license or getting a job. I am unable to get this charged expunged or sealed due to state laws. I've been an RN for five years here in the US. Anyone have any insight or can you direct me anywhere to further my search? Thanks! Also, Sask is the province I'm looking at.

From Canadian immigration you may be denied entry to Canada with a DUI no matter what country.

If you have been convicted of driving while impaired by alcohol or drugs, you will probably be found criminally inadmissible to Canada. But as of March 1, 2012, you may be able to get a temporary resident permit for one visit without paying the C$200 processing fee. Find out more.

Yeah my cousin tried to move back to Canada but her husband has a DUI and he was turned down

A DUI is a criminal charge in Canada, you'd have to get a pardon I believe

My wife and I go up to Vancouver a few times a year. The Canadian immigration officers are consistent at turning away people at the border who have a DUI conviction. The ferry terminals even have signs about this.

Most countries are much stricter about impaired driving than the US is.

Getting a job may not be hard but Immigration on the other hand will probably reject your application with the DUI. You need to get a lawyer and figure that out ASAP before applying for immigration, working visas etc.

Finding work is no easy task in Canada. There is no nursing shortage and the demise of oil has affected the entire country, especially the Western Provinces.

There are plenty of locals lined up to work and few jobs.
