Hi, I am working as LPN (6 mths) in sk, I recently cleared my RN exam from Ontario but in order to issue license CNO is asking me do a course as my recent practise is expired and cno wont consider my LPN license b'coz scope of practice for RN & LPN/RPN is different. any suggestions?

Did CNO specify the course you are required to do?

Yes, one of my friends took it, it's 18 months course, but I m an LPN, my jobs responsibility includes most of course material.

If you want to practice as a RN take the 18 month course, you have no other options.

If they are asking for it you will have to do it.

I don't understand by what you mean "cleared my RN exam from Ontario". Do you mean that you passed CRNE? That you assembled all your documents.

I've only ever heard of "clearing" used in the sense of you passed. If you passed why are you required to upgrading?

From what I read in their first post they passed NCLEX but unless they meet RN hours they will not get a license issued and LPN experience isn't taken into account

Now I'm really confused. Their original post, way back when, said they passed CRNE back in 2010.

My understanding is that kirti has met all the requirments to be licensed as a RN except for proof of working as a RN within the last three years. Unless kirti has a time machine and can travel not only back in time at least one year but also to their country of origin and work as RN, they have no way to meet the CNOs proof of recent work experience requirement.
