Let's do something fun! Everybody on allnurses.com has a very interesting and unique username. What is the back story of your username? Mine is just like it states, "Life's a Journey!"

I have three kids, three dogs, work three 12 hr shifts a week.:yeah:

Mine means even when life seems like your lost amongst the trees, you can always find a bit of sunshine to brighten your way and perhaps even appreciate the protection of the shade.

Lol O.K. well really it was just the first thing that popped into my head but if I had to analyze it, that would be my answer:-):redbeathe

Specializes in Med/Surg, Float Pool, MICU, CTICU.

Yay, soo many responses! I'll try to get to them all!

CaptKris--I had to google panama hat to understand what it meant lol!

NewTexasRN-Gotta love Texas!!! I hope to move down there or to Nebraska some day.

Patience--Good choice. I really like music from James Morrison, but the songs names he has are kinda long hahaha.

FLmomof5--really?!?!?! wow that seems so unexpected from such a sunny state! weather here can be crazy tooo!

JenTheRN--nice meeting ya! virtually of course ;)

♪♫ in my ♥--very creative! my younger brother is good with computers, but i can relate to enjoying a good challenge and music of course :)

txspadequeenRN--that great how your hobby paid off, literally! although i am horrible at card games, i enjoy solving the cryptoquip puzzles in the newspaper. i am still waiting for my paycheck lol!

thebusynurse--wow, you have your own website? staying busy is good though like you said! i think in the beginning of all our nursing careers, we would all be fighting for the username "thestrappedforcashnurse" hehe

CRod2011--CONGRATULATIONS on both your nursing career and your future wedding!!!

Zookeeper3--lol, everything came in threes! how is working the 3 12's? I just got a job with a hospital for nights and it would be 3 12's per week. i'm used to working between 8-10 hours, so hopefully 12 hours won't be too exhausting!

sunshineintheforest--my mood sometimes changes with the weather and I would take sunshine over rainy days anyday :)

Combo of 2 nicknames I've had for years. In my teens I worked at a camp where the staff went by 'camp names', and my best camp friend called herself Ernie, so I was Bert. It fit me entirely too well--I'm easily annoyed and have strange interests (Bert likes pigeons and paperclips, I obsess over rats and safety pins), plus I can grow a mean unibrow. Teenie is courtesy of my sister--her children have 10 aunts, 9 of whom are their father's sisters/sisters-in-law and have rather generous figures, while I'm more of a skin-and-bones type. Sis thought it would be hilarious to teach the kids my name was Aunt Teenie-Tiny...I refused to acknowledge this until the day I stopped by and my (then-11-month-old) nephew crawled as fast as he could across the living room toward me yelling, "Tee! Tee! Tee!" Yep, I've been Teenie for over a decade now.

Specializes in Peds/Neo CCT,Flight, ER, Hem/Onc.

FlyingScot: I'm of Scottish descent (second generation American) and I was a flight nurse when I came up with this moniker.

My username came as more of a naughty thing than a cute thing, but since I am not easily embarrassed and like to laugh at myself, I went with it.

One night some co-workers and I went to the local tavern (in a town of about 200). My Co-workers introduced me to the owner/bartender. My last name has the word "palm" in it. The bartender thought it was funny to call me "Handy Palm" (haha! Dirty pun intended.) Shortly after that, I found allnurses and joined. Couldn't think of anything to call myself, so just ended up with handyrn. I have since moved on from that job and, actually moved 1700 miles away, but logging in to allnurses using my user name always makes me remember working with that fun group of people.

Specializes in ICU, Home Health, Camp, Travel, L&D.

DH, myself, and our 7 kiddos--we need a (you guessed it) table for 9.

Specializes in OR, OB, EM, Flight, ICU, PACU.......

Mine is a combination of my codename when I worked for an initialed Government agency and the second half is from a Martial arts class I was in when the Instructor told me "a kitten could have hit me harder than that!" Well, I was holding back some. Anyway, saw a very weird music video with cats running around in Viking helmets. I thought it was cool.

I know, I'm weird......

Specializes in LTC, Treatment nurse, Rehab.

When I was just starting as an LVN, I had a schizophrenic patient. Every day I would introduce myself as her nurse fir the shift. And, every day she would say "when I was a little girl my mom would say RN stands for real nice." I would ask her what LVN stands for. She would think for a while and get distracted and then start rhyming. Unfortunatly, she couldn't focus to answer my question. My sign on is my answer for her.

I'm now an RN, but I still love my signon b/c it reminds me of that patient.
