The dreaded....So, do you have any questions for us?

I have my first interview as a new grad tomorrow and I think I have covered most of the typical interview questions. The one that gets me the most is when they ask..."So, do you have any questions for us"?

I hate this questions. The truth is I have TONS of questions but I don't want to ask questions that are going to wave the "I'm a new grad" flag when a nurse with more experience would or should already know these things.

I want to ask.

1) I have never worked in surgery before...can you give me a run down on what a typical day would be like in my position.

2) I have an interest in perioperative nursing and wound care, can you give me an idea of how much of my time would be spent actually doing these things.

3) What type of orientation do you offer, how long is it, who will do it?

4) Can you describe the dynamics of your team?

5) What's your patient/nurse ratio

6) Would I be working under one surgeon or would I rotate between the 12 of them?

Are these stupid questions? Is this something I should already know as a nurse?

I wish I knew the magic answer to this one! I asked questions more related to the floor...like what is their retention rate of their nurses, are they happy on the floor, and stuff like that. :) I got the job :)

Awesome! Thank you! My interview went amazing so now I just wait. They had me complete the live scan and background check and said they would be in touch in a few days
