Call back from staffing specialist, but no interview scheduled

Nurses Job Hunt

Published

Hello!

If anyone can give me some input that would be great!

I've recently applied for a RN position at a major healthcare system (I am a new grad BSN). After the online application status reading 'application in review' for over a week I received a phone call from the staffing specialist assigned to this job posting. We talked for a short time, she asked me a few questions, and then said she'd relay this information to the hiring manager and they'd let me know if they would like to schedule an interview.

Has anyone had an experience such as this before? Does a staffing specialist normally schedule interviews?

I just feel like I may have 'blew' the phone call..

Yes...the actual person who screened me called me back; I had the first interview with the nursing educator, then had a 2nd interview with management. I was offered the job...and started this week. :)

Some screenings and processes vary; at one position it took me a total of 8 months to start; this recent job took 1 month to process...it depends.

Yes I applied to a healthcare system online and about two weeks later a recruiter called and did a phone interview and then told me it would be forwarded to a HR person. Didn't hear anything for about two weeks so I thought they weren't interested. Got a call and had an interview with the facility HR and the Dept. Manager. It takes time. That's the problem with getting a nursing job it takes time especially if you are a new grad.
