Hi,

There is a book called Reading EKGS Correctly, It is a Nursing SkillBook. The version is Nursing77. It is easy and understandable. However, you may have to look for it because it was a series of books that you could order. I also have one that is Giving Cardiovascular drugs safely. Oh, authors are Margaret Van Meter, RN and Peter G. Levine, MD if that might help,

Take care and good louck.

"Rapid Interpretation of EKG's" By Dale Dubin.

Very simple, it breaks everything down step-by-step. It gives a paragraph of explanation and a quiz on each page, with the answers on the same page.

Used it for paramedic school. Very easy to read and learn. Most med schools advice their students to see if someone will lend them a copy, cause you learn it so fast no sense in buying it.

My personal favorite:

The Only EKG Book You'll Ever Need by Thaler:

This was a favorite on the cardiac unit in which I used to work.

Rapid EKG Interpretation by Dale Dubin is by far the best basic EKG book available. :)

I bought Dubins when I first started on tele a long time ago.But just last night things got slow and I found this book that was recently bought:

ECG Workout: Exercises in Arrhythmia Interpretation by Jane Huff.

It was very good with lots of practice strips. Also went into pacemaker strips and terminology.

I bought Flip and See ECG by Cohnn/Gilroy-Doohan last year. It was good but basic but a good starting point.

thanks for all the replies...

im excited to go read about ekg because i hope start in the er.

Rapid Interpretation of EKGs by Dale Dubin,MD. The illustrations are great, it is easy to read, my students love it. It is now in its sixth edition and I used it when I was in my critical care course over 20 years ago
