I'm looking for someone to study with for CNE.

I took the review course in Terre Haute (ISU) last winter. haven't summoned up the courage to schedule the exam yet- as I've started my DNP program.

Meh. We covered 25% of the study guide at breakneck pace in the final 30 minutes. I feel the problem was the instructor, not the content. She just did not pace well at all.

Oh no bad instructor. I heard the test was pretty challenging. I'm just looking for someone to toss the information around with. Well good luck with the DNP program. I can't afford school again although I would like to return.

I took the practice test the NLN has online. The results broke down by category what areas of weakness you have, and I felt it was informative enough to guide my study plans. It was in the $70 range.

Well I'm going to get to reading this book by Billings set a date and go from there

The Billings book was HIGHLY recommended by the review instructor. We use it in our DNP program as well- it's a great resource!

I'm thinking of forcing my hand and setting a date between semesters as well. How far out are you going to schedule?

Hello, I took the review course last week and it was a great help! I would love a study buddy also, as it was highly recommended by our mentor. PM me and we can set up dates and time to conference sykpe etc... in preparation for the test. I intend to take it sometime this fall.

I just bought the new addition of Billings book, I have a few books from my masters program as well

curriculum development

no CNE prep books --> trying to see which would be best.

looked at some stuff on quizlet

I also have the powerpoints to Nurse Tim review (which I have heard wasn't too helpful)

I have printed out the detailed blue print. I'm going to start at the top and follow it.

Then take the NLN SAE and see what area's I need more studying in and focus there for a couple of weeks then go for it.

I think setting a date will make me at least start.

Good to hear we have the same books:

Billings, D.M. & Halstead, J.A. (2011). Teaching in nursing: A guide for faculty (4th ed).

I'm also reviewing these more closely:

Felver, L., Gaines, B., Heims, M., Lasater, K., Laustsen, G., et al. (2010). Best practices in teaching and learning in nursing education. New York: National League for Nursing.

National League for Nursing (2012). The scope of practice for academic nurse educators.

Halstead, J. (2007). Nurse Educator Competencies: Creating An Evidence-Based Practice for Nurse Educators. New York: National League for Nursing.

Like you, I haven't looked into prep books yet, because I want to go over the above books first, while following the blue print.

Are you leaning on one book (or books) more so than others?
