I went to school in NS Chicago, I know of a lot of people who took the LPN boards after their first year and then worked as an LPN during the final year rounding out their RN degrees, mostly during pm's and weekends at a nursing home. Good luck to you. Welcome back to good old Chi town!!!

Dont know why but man do i love that city it's my kind of town thank's for the tip ill do that..

I have been reading your posts about what you have been wanting to do and I have not commented.

I can tell you are really wanting to move back to Chi Town. If that is truly what you want and will make you feel comfortable and happy, then, by ALL means, do it. As you said, you have time to complete your nursing career.

Have you been checking out RN programs in Chicago to continue your career? You might do that while you finish the Practical Nursing part.

I think you would be much happier and able to make better decisions if you went ahead and moved back to Chicago.

IMHO :) -------Good luck!!!!!!

I see only one problem. I live and work in the northwestern Chicago suburbs. None of the hospitals around here hire LPN's. I had to do either Nursing Home or doctor's office while finishing my RN. Good luck, and bring some of that Florida rain. Lord knows we need it.

Good point made. Dray you may want to check the market in Chicago for LPN if this is what you may plan to do. Very good point.

I don't know about Chicago, but some of the hospitals around where I live (mine in particular) use LPN's in the emergency room and in endoscopy.

North West cool i used to live in Streamwood, Then more towards chicago, I wonder if any bigger hospital closer to the city are hireing LPN's Ill have too look into that, Thanx , And ill see what i can do about the rain, no promises tho (lol) thanx again...:)
