2014 UNC, Duke, Duke Regional New Grad Hopefuls

Has anyone received an email like this from Duke?

Thanks for your ongoing interest in new graduate opportunities at Duke University Hospital! Due to the large applicant pool for the February posting, we are still in the process of interviewing candidates for available positions. Please note that your application will remain active for 90 days for positions at Duke University Hospital; therefore you do not need to re-apply during this time. (Note: Any duplicate applications within 90 days will not be considered Only the first application will be considered).

My status online still says "Under recruitment review," so I'm anxiously waiting to hear anything. I received that email a week ago. Guess there must have been a ton of applicants!

Hey ManekiNekoRN! I think they are just running behind. Im still waiting to hear back about my interview from 3/24. My nurse recruiter was out of the office for a few days so Im sure that also has something to do with it. I know they had a new posting for a March application so I think that there is just 100s of applications to go through. I hope you get a call soon! :)

Thanks so much, Scilla55! That's a relief to hear, I really hope this is the case! I didn't even realize they opened a new posting for March.

And congrats on getting an interview! Duke would be an awesome place to start a nursing career. I hope you hear back from them soon as well!!

flying_ace2 , hey did you attend the interview blitz on March 12th for Duke Regional Hospital? and you got a job in the Operating Room at duke Regional? When did you interview and when did you get the offer? Did the nurse recruiter at duke regional call you with the offer? Any information will be greatly appreciated!

Applied to Duke and UNC - got interviews at both. Went to my interview at Duke Regional and was offered a position in the OR, which I obviously jumped on!

JLiRN, yes and yes! :yes: I was at the interview blitz in March and am starting in the OR in June. The nurse recruiter called about a week after the interview blitz on the 12th with my offer.

congrats on the job offer. I also interviewed for the OR. the recruiter told me that they are considering hiring more candidates. Do you know if you were the only hire? the recruiter said they are going to see if their budget allows to hire 1-3 people for the operating room.

Thank you! Honestly, when I went to the interview blitz they said at that time that they were only hiring 1-3 people for the OR. I'm not sure if I'm the only one they have/are going to hire. Continuing to wish you the best!

yea. that's what the recruiter told me at the interview blitz too. that they were going to hire 1-3 and they were interviewing 7. The recruiter told me that there is a meeting on Wednesday. where she will ask the manager and director if they are done with the hiring process. or if the budget allows them to hire more.

Its been 4 weeks since the interview blitz and you said the start date is in June so most likely going to hear the final decision soon. I'm going to call the recruiter on Thursday.

flying_ace2 Is your start date in early June or late June?

I just got off the phone with the recruiter and she said that at the meeting today, they said that they are still seeing if their budget will allow more hires and that they will have a final decision at the end of April. :banghead:

My start date is 6/16. That's frustrating that they can't tell you much at this point. :down: I guess if it's meant to be it will happen! Still sending out good wishes!

Just got notifications yesterday from Rex and Duke that my resumes were forwarded to hiring managers. How long did it take for you guys to get a call for an interview after your resumes were sent to the hiring managers?
