Someone gave me an issue of Advance for Nurse Practitioners. I must say I am in the process of reading it from cover to cover. It is chock full of science based pactice. It assumes that the person reading it is intellegent and practices in professional manner. No finger wagging lectures that talk down to dumb little nursie. My fear is that the NP police will come and arrest me for reading a magazine that is for NPs, which I am not.

The Advance for Nurses is like that too. Much better than Nursing Spectrum.

Advance Newsmagazines are publishers of 26 health care
magazines and Web sites--links available at bottom of above website
I have been going to their website for a while. I thought it was just so-so and never was interested in the magazine. Like I said out of the blue someone gave me an issue and I was impressed.
Website is only one year old and only has 1 /10th content of magazine which is far superior.
I got a brilliant idea. Advance should affiliate with allnurse (after paying brian a huge sum and after having guaranted him complete journalistic freedom). That way brian would be spared the aggravation of going into print(which I have been thinking for sometime he should do). Advance would be associated with a decent web and would have broad exposure. The only fly in the ointment is that most editors don't have the stomach for the stuff we talk about. They need to go look in the mirror and realize this site has exploded while their magazine sales are flat or declining. That should tell them inorder to sell magazines to real nurses they need to go where real nurses go.
