Aetna Inc. has been laying off thousands of employees and tightening its belt. It also paid CEO Dr. John W. Rowe nearly $9 million last year.

I saw a post somewhere and somebody called it the NEW brand of racketeering. If you look further down on this forum I posted an article about USAir. It is about how 3 executives at USA paid themselves 35 million in retirment benefits. That was from the funds of an airline that was going down the shute. Since then they have canceled the pensions of employees and cut salaries about 3 times.

Everytime I see something like this I still find myself saying "but how can that be????" I dont know how these people can blatantly get away with this and why its not illegal. Its like an episode of the twilight zone. Where youre the only who sees something wrong & everybody else is just walking around like nothing odd is happening at all.
