Good morning all! So today I checked my testing site and there it was! Plain as day! All check ins accounted for, testing on schedule, all negative results, and all tests paid in full... Yet it said one of my tests was counted as missed. So a few phone calls later and as it turns out it took two weeks for my sample to reach the lab and that's why it was counted as missed. The gal was real nice and changed it but still... That was stressful for no reason.

so how do you all handle the pitfalls like this that are bound to happen? How do you keep the stress at bay?

We are all working with people who are going to make mistakes. What a crazy gig this is.

I just had an EGD and have stomach erosions everywhere. Have been sober for over ten months. I don't smoke, don't drink much caffeine, and don't pop NSAIDs like candy...so I guess this is how I am handling the stress.

Oi vey, I am sorry to hear that. Most of my days are pretty low key on stress, I do a really good job of letting things go and not worrying too much. It's the things that side line me like this (you know, when you do all the right steps and then it sidelines you anyway) that throw me off.

At least I hope I am not stressed, you hear all the time about people being in a high state of stress and not realizing it because it becomes baseline for them.

i officially got to start my monitoring program following my year of sobriety, which worked well because I had already started a non nursing job that handles things financially. Well mostly, I daydreamed today about quality shampoo and liquid hand soap:) oh my gosh and hamburger lol. What a trip!

No matter what - when you get that call that a test is missing you are going to freak out. Labs and collection sites can make mistakes so you need to always take steps to be able to prove your case. When you go to give Urine the lab slip has three copies. One goes with the sample, one goes to you and one and one stays at the lab. Keep those slips - as they have a requisition # and the name of the person who took your sample. I always stood there a watched them pack my sample for shipping to the lab.

So it seems that all three of my recent tests are counted as missed. I've talked with the lab and they corrected it only to have their system relabel it as missed again. Next step is talking with my case manager and making sure that this is going to be okay because I sense a theme here. If it takes over two weeks for them to receive it, it will be counted as missed each time. Boo hiss lol.

@ Twoyear: Wow- how crazy & frustrating is that??!! Do you live in one of those remote areas of your state where everything moves by airplane?? Surely, there is some sort of solution for this! :***:

My program doesn't use the laboratories that we have here in state, they contract with someone outside (which is ridiculous because rather than paying 54 per lab I pay 95). So it flies.

hmm....you would think they might have encountered this problem before....hopefully, their brains wake up soon & they figure this one out!
