SSN waiver (if I'm thinking of the same thing) is like a form that you need to accomplish that states that you don't have a social security number yet but will give that particular state your SSN as soon as you have one. I had one when I applied in Oregon.
is that (SSN waiver) is applicable for NCLEX?? in my case, i need to pass the NCLEX in order for me to go to USA for work and the apply for SSN since I am not a US citizen.
there are states that require a social security number and you can't get away with it. but there are some that requires it but will allow you to submit a waiver. you should contact the state board of nursing of your choice.
well, to be honest, even if you pass your NCLEX and have the SSN waiver, its very very hard for you to get a working visa - near impossible. Green card application takes at least what, 6, 7 years before they grant it. I hope you are familiar with retrogression.
but keep moving forward! good luck.
what was retrogression mean?? I'm sorry for not being updated.. i am a fresh graduate and just starting to learn on NCLEX application...
retrogression simply means there's no current visa available. its been going on for years. you can still apply (if you have any sponsor) but it will take at least 6 or 7 years before that can be approved.
okay, i understand now...thank you Godbless

With retrogression I would say you have the time to check some state BON out. Links can be found at the bottom of the page. California will not except application with no SSN and will not accept a waiver

hi! do u mean that i need ssn for oregon to issue my license? thanks..
to be honest, it's been 3 years and things may have changed. But back then, they issued me a license even without a SSN but I had to sign a waiver stating that I will give them my SSN. Check with Oregon BON.
Hi venRN!! New York = No SSN, No CGFNS exam, No TOEFL/IELTS :)
Please let me know if you're interested in the same state!
