UNSCHEDULING my NCLEX exam due delayed passport (because of my stupidity)

World Registration

Published

I'm confused because when i logged in to my account in the personvue there is an icon that is UNSCHEDULE but below there is a note that you cannot CANCEL the exam. I want to resched my exam on january but my ATT expires on december 22, 2015. but im still eligible until oct 2016. pls help. IS IT OKAY THAT I UNSCHED MY EXAM AND JUST REGISTER AGAIN AND SCHEDULE A NEW APPOINTMENT? OR I NEED TO START PROCESSING AGAIN? huhuhuh

BoN eligibility and ATT validity are not the same. Once you register and obtain your ATT in order to extend your scheduling you would need to cancel for a fee and reapply to PV and pay another $200 registration fee after 12/22/2015. BoN often gives eligibility for a full year. But average ATT is only valid for 90 days and cannot be extended

Per NCSBN

After you register with Pearson VUE and your BON/RB declares you eligible, you will receive your ATT. All application materials and fees must be submitted to the BON/RB before they can deem you eligible to test.

Once the BON/RB declares you eligible to test and your ATT is issued, you must test within the validity dates of your ATT (the average length of an ATT is 90 days). These validity dates cannot be extended for any reason. If you do not test within these dates you will have to reregister and pay another exam fee. The ATT contains your authorization number, candidate identification number and an expiration date. You need the ATT to schedule an appointment to take the NCLEX.

Reschedule Policy

IMPORTANT: Registrations cannot be canceled, and there will be no refund of registration fees for any reason. Changes to exam appointment times, dates and locations must be made at least one full business day (24 hours) before your scheduled appointment.

this is what is written in my appointment confirmation email. I CAN'T CANCEL? what does that mean?

You can not schedule another appointment for January as your ATT expires in December. What Pearsonvue are saying is you cannot cancel and get a refund. If you do not take exam by 22 December then you have to pay Pearsonvue again and get a new ATT

meaning ill just have to register again after december 22? huhuhu. another fee. thanks for the clarification guys =)

Exactly. You can reschedule. If you do not attempt the exam before December 22 you will be marked as a no show with no refund and your BoN notified (mostly so they can authorize a new ATT) you may also need to reapply to the BoN. For example CA you must reapply for a new test authorization and pay a fee.

UPDATE:

i just got my passport earlier than expected. i guess im taking my exam on december 21 this year =) wish me luck guys. thanks for the help. =)
