time period for credential evaluation

hi i am a nurse from india and currently residing in california.i applied for ces last september and sent all the transcipt and licensure certificate from india.but recently i got a mail from cgfns saying my documents were incomplete due to some signature and seal.so they are waiting forthe documents from the approppriate authority to complete the process by september 14 2014 .why they r giving a time line like this and if they will collect the information or do i have to do something for this plz help

You might want to follow up with your school/licensing body about said documents. Once you already sent the requests, the CGFNS' cannot do much but wait for the forms to be mailed back to them.

You have until September 14, 2014 to complete your documents or the CGFNS will issue report on whatever documents they have received and send it to CaBRN. And I don't know if the board of nursing in California will grant you eligibility to take the NCLEX-RN if you have an incomplete report from the CGFNS. Goodluck!

CA BRN does not use CGFNS they have their own internal analyst / evaluation team. Check the CABRN website for instructions how to apply for a nursing license by examination for an internationally educated nurse.

Right. California currently doesn't require services by the CGFNS. I stand corrected. Thank you. It could be that the OP applied out of state although he currently resides in California and mistook his vague plead for help. :)

You need to check with the IL BON if they will release the license without having to provide them with a valid working SS#. If so, that's great, but then you'll need still need a valid SS# or proper working visa/permit to provide that to any US employer.

Many international applicants believe that once one has taken the exam and passed, the license is good for most if not all of the 50 states and easily endorsable, but that's not usually the case, especially if that state's requirements needs proof of the SS# or a working visa as well as needing to still complete the other requirements of course evaluations and possible passing the English proficiency exam.
