Registration Verification from Saudi Council

World Registration

Published

Hi! Been following the discussion about verification of nurse registration since last week and I decided to join this site to get some help and be of assistance, if possible.

Currently, I am applying for Further Assessment in Alberta's College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA). At this stage, the only requirement I need is the Verification of Registration from the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) or known as the Saudi Council. I was advised that it is done online so I paid and received a Certificate of Good Standing via email in a matter of minutes. I thought everything was fine but the problem has just get started from that point.

Two weeks ago, I sent the said certificate electronically but they advised me to have it printed and sent directly from its source that is Saudi Council. So I went there a couple of days back to ask them to send it as it is the requirement of CARNA (with the fee of sending to be paid by me) but they declined my request. They just gave me an envelope and instructed me to send it myself.

The dilemma did not end there because last night, CARNA emailed me that the certificate does not include the Initial Date of Registration and that their Nurse Consultant will call them with this concern. As for my end, I am planning to go back there and have the Verification of Nurse Registration Form filled up in addition to the good standing certificate. However, I would like to hear from you guys who have the same concern or been processing their CARNA registration or with any other jurisdiction (eg., NMC UK, AHPRA) that requires registration verification from Saudi Arabia.

Thank you!

Thanks for the info. I contacted a former classmate of mine living in Riyadh. She agreed to help me on the SCHS thing. I just want to clarify the process.

First, she needs to go to SCHS office and hand them over the forms to be filled out together with the copy of my license card. I will also include a letter of authorization with copy of my passport and iqama. Then she will pay using debit card of how much? I will also make a letter requesting for an explanation letter for the unregistered practiceto be given to the Call Center Dept (Communication Department).

After a week or two, she will go back to the Finance Dept 2ndFlr and pay SAR 100, then she will go to groundfloor to

get the accomplished forms. She also needs to go to the Call Center Dept (Communication Department) to get the explanation letter for unregistered practice. All documents must be signed, stamped, and sealed.

Then she can mail them back to me so I can send altogether to NMC.

Did I miss something?

Questions / clarifications:

1. I did not renew my license prior to leaving Saudi 2 months ago but the expiration date is October. Is that OK?

2. Do you have a scanned copy of the explanation letter for unregistered practice so I can have an idea on what to expect?

3. Do I need to SCHS ([email protected]) for the request of explanation letter for unregistered practice before my former classmate visit SCHS office? Or she can talk to them about it.

4. Since my pack 2 will arrive hopefully 3 weeks from now, what are the things I need to prepare / anticipate aside from police clearances (Phils and Saudi) and the leg work of going to PRC and the university I attended?

5. For the sick leave record, HR Dept of my previous company do not issue such but our staff physician wrote me one. I asked my chief nurse to write an explanation letter indicating that my hospital do not agree on putting stamp

on the documents I requested since I am no longer affiliated with them. That includes the reference letters (though I managed to get three reference letters from shift leader s and supervisors with logo and signature). Will that be fine?

In my opinion, you should first write the SCFHS that you need such a document (Letter about Unregistered Practice). They only provide one format so the one they provided me with would be same as the others'. So that by the time that your friend will go there, she'll just check it and have it sent by the SCFHS along with the Verification form from the NMC. I got mine for no fee but I paid SAR 120 for the verification. As per the guidelines, the official forms such as registration check, school and references should come directly from the sources of information or at least appear to have come from them.

With regards to the other requirements for stage two, you may visit the NMC website and download their PDF guide for the Overseas or Non-EU/EEA Applicants.

For your questions numbered 1 and 5, I only have a little idea but to be sure, better contact the NMC for further details.

Hi, Oliver! Before your friend goes to SCFHS, it will be most convenient for you to send them an email first regarding the certificate of temporary unregistered practice. I did it myself prior to my visit at their provincial branch, therefore, it only took them less than a day to accomplish it.

Moreover, you should include your college diploma, PRC license and board certificate for the SCFHS registration verification. Upon the completion of the form, make sure that your good standing certificate will be sent to%2

Based on my experience, here are the fees that you need to pay at SCFHS:

Good standing certificate (via SADAD in Al-Rajhi Bank): SAR 300

Registration Verification (thru debit card): SAR 150

Unregistered practice certificate (thru debit card): SAR 150

Courier Fee (thru debit card ): SAR 110

May God bless us all!

@EdOng

Thanks for the info Sir. Do I need to send SCHS notarised copies of my diploma, PRC ID, and Board cert or just photocopies? Secondly, do you think I need to get a new cert of good standing. I already have one but it was issued last last week of July 2014 and I think the validity is only for 3 months. It will be expired by the time they'll be receiving my Pack 2. Indeed, SAR 300 can buy a lot of things already. Anyway, my agency already sent a copy of my Good Standing as part of Pack 1 as supporting documents for my PAC together with the copy of my Saudi license ID. Thirdly, the courier fee you mentioned, is that for the NMC or for sending back the documents here in the Phils cause I want to send them altogether so no document will be lost. It's really hard to accomplish them and I don't want to take risk.

Thanks for the help Edong. As always! Cheers!

@arya s. winchester

Sent you a PM. Hope it works this time.

When you received them, did they put it inside a closed envelope? Cause' the agent from my agency advised me to not allow the people from SCHS to close the envelope so they can re-check it for accuracy and completeness.

I will go to SCFHS Riyadh tomorrow, and I will ask them to attach a letter regarding my unregistered practice. I hope they will help me secure the letter. Cheer up, EdOng!

SCFHS secured the documents inside an envelope with their official logo. Upon checking the accuracy and completeness of the forms, they closed the enveloped infront of me, and it was also stamped to prevent people from tampering it. Therefore, your agency will receive the SCFHS documents in a sealed envelope only. Hope it helps.

@stylish gem

Thanks for the info. I guess I need to provide clear instructions to my representative. Can you still remember what are the things written/ present on the forms? Thank You.

The letter stated the start and end of my employment, and the date of SCFHS registration. It is much easier to request for the certificate from the provincial branch too.

Hello!

I went to SCFHS Riyadh at first to request for the certificate of temporary unregistered practice, and the lady boss of the Communucation Department told me to send an email first. Kindly check the email address they provided me in my previous post. In addition, SCFHS only provides an explanation letter about the unregistered practice if the gap is more than 6 months from the date of employment to the date of registration.

I sent an email as instructed, and I went to one of their SCFHS provincial branches closer to my workplace. I paid SAR 150 for the said certificate, and I got it on the same day. All the best!
