Questions about IEN Registration with CNO

World Registration

Hello..I just want you to share my situation right now. I just graduated my BSN from the philippines this april 2011. i am already here in ontario as an immigrant. Currently I am just waiting for my credentials to be sent to me from the philippines as some of it should be passed along with the application forms which I requested from CNO. I'm having a hard time thinking of what position to apply for my asessment: RN or RPN? I'm worried that if I apply for RN they will not recognize my BSN and tell me to study from the start all over again as I dont have my philippine nursing license..so Im planning to apply for RPN. which is better..?

and will the CNO require me of philippine nursing license? i'd still don't know what to do next- do I still need to take the local NLE?

Some people tell me I don't need it while may aunt in the US told me that I need it to have NCLEX someday and work there??.

I'll appreciate all your comments regarding this.thank you so much.:)

Thanks for the info, janfrn!

Just a few more questions...

1. Is the assessment application form for RN the same for RPN too? Because I asked the CNO for an RN package assessment only. Can I use the same package to be assessed as RPN?

2. How about the verification of course completion and transcript request form, do I need to give my school two copies of that, one each for the RN and RPN assessment application?

I am in the process as well, i.e. form , payment and credentials received since Aug 2012. I am awaiting for their feedback. I do not remember however, that there was a request for an IELTS exam. Can you please tell me when will I be required to sit for it? Thank you janfrn

Check with the college as it should state something on the website in regards what documents are required and when

I am communicating with the college but they did not tell me yet to submit IELTS, I'll email them to check, Thanks Silverdragon102

Kindy

IELTS is step #5 of the CNO application process, CNO doesn't require IELTS until after the first steps are completed. It is better to wait to do the them because if they expire before your application has been processed, you will have to re-do them.
