Dear all,

I've been trying to get a hold of the California Board of Nursing but I always get the "we are experiencing high volume of calls..." message. This is my situation:

In 2011, I took and passed the NCLEx in the Philippines but I could not get an SSN and job opportunities opened up for me there. I recently moved to the US on petition and have received my SSN. I would like to know if I could still apply for my California license even if 5 years has lapsed or if I need to take the exam again (which I don't want to do). I've been told that I just need to inform them that I'm here in the US already with an SSN and have my file reopened. From there, I can apply for an RN license. How much of this is true? I need answers badly. :(

Eight years us the magic number to retake the nclex in ca. You need to reapply for a nursing license by examination indicating you passed the exam and when (include your pass letter)

CA delete files longer than 3 years so my understanding is submit new application with SSN and let them know you previous sat exam in 2011 and passed
