Foreign Nurse Graduate Application

  1. 0
Hello there nurses. I need help for the application for NCLEX in Louisiana. I graduated BSN in the Philippines last year but I'm a citizen here in USA. I live here in California. I tried applying for NCEX here in CA but unfortunately, I wasn't given an ATT due to some concurrency issue. Now, my mom is moving in Louisiana this year and I'm planning to move there with her and apply for NCLEX. I just want to know what are the requirements for foreign students who graduated BSN in applying NCLEX there. Is there anyone here who already experienced this before? Thanks in advance

I'm not sure why you suggested that the OP should try OR when the family is moving to Louisiana, a completely different state and each state has its own requirements to be met.

Also, just know that ALL states are still accepting foreign applicants, as long they meet the educational and any other requirements per that state. As long as the deficiencies can be corrected and any missing requirements are provided, one will get the ATT for that particular state.

Getting an out of state license is not an automatic guarantee to be licensed in another state via the endorsement process as one will have to still meet the endorsed state's requirements, whether it's another course evaluation and or passing an English proficiency examination.

i am sorry for suggesting that, that was just a "suggestion" i just wanna give him/her a sure hit where to apply so he wont waste money as for me i've tried 3 different states though one of em gave me eligibility and smooth process . ye i know that ALL states are still accepting foreign applicants but we are from the philippines our credentials are having concurrency issues and because of that we're only getting denied. if he'll take my suggestion then cool if he won't then at least i know suggested something,im also aware of endorsement issues. And again im sorry for suggesting that just trying to help someone out. thank you. God bless.

I totally understand the situation, I too was denied, lol.

But again, if the OP plans to move to Louisiana, it didn't make sense to get licensed in OR or any other state, then try to endorse into LA, as then, it's a waste of money (for new application fees, possible courses evaluation cost, English exam fees) and a waste of time to wait more months to get endorsed, if it's granted.

But in your particular case, why apply into 3 different states? The state that gave you the ATT is that the state you plan to work and practice in once you pass the NCLEX-RN and start the job hunting in that state? If so, that's great but if not and plan to endorse, why not just simply apply into that desired state?
