I passed the NCLEX exam in 2006 but was unable to provide an SSN as I was in the Philippines then. I was able to migrate to California now and was wondering if I fall under "renewal" (but I didn't really get a license before right?) if so, do I need to take the NCLEX?
2. If yes, which must I choose from the options -
"Licensure by examination"? (even if I am not a first time candidate) or "Reapply for Examination"? (even if I passed my previous exam)
· Licensure by Examination If you wish to apply for RN licensure by examination and are a first-time candidate.
· Reapply for Examination If you have previously taken the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN) in California and did not pass.
Crossing my fingers that I don't have to re-take...

- Sep 10, '12 by injecthopeI found my answer! Sharing it here in case anybody else like me wanted to knoe. I was finally able to get through and just talked to CA BRN, her name is ******
I don't have to retake the exam (
) but I will need to fill out a new application, provide my SSN, and provide the requirements. I asked about the concurrency issue but then she said that, as I re-submit my requirements it will be up to the evaluator...
so I'm still not sure what will happen. Heard of some good and a lot of denials in the other threads. I think it's worth the try. I believe that God is good and sovereign, and by good it may also mean denial - because He knows what is best for us.
Still, it's okay to ask and pray for a favorable response and just seek His will.
God bless you all my fellow nurses!Last edit by Silverdragon102 on Sep 10, '12 : Reason: Name removed as per terms of service - Sep 10, '12 by injecthopeQuote from proudpinayI love you proudpinay!
