Ca-bon -study the whole nursing program

Anyone here who was required by the CA BON to study the entire program due to concurrency issue?

There have been a few posters who did receive the CA BRN letter stating they would be required to re-take the entire program again as they were lacking in more than the MS-OB courses, along with not being concurrent.

When you think about it, their recommendation makes sense in that you have 3 years to complete any and all deficiencies or else, the application will be considered abandoned.

With limited space and higher than average tuition cost and hard to find schools offering the 4 courses or more, the 3 years will have expired. Even with the extreme cases of a local student trying to get enrolled in CA, once you get in, there's no problems the other thousands of PH and other international students are facing, provided the CA school is approved and on the CA BRN list.

But don't forget, that if you already have a BSN from another country, you can't get another BSN in the same field. You can go for a MSN degree but not sure if it's still possible to get licensed in CA, as the BSN from the Phils could be evaluated as being deficient and therefore, the BSN foundation is weak and flawed (due to the concurrency or lacking courses or clinical hours). I haven't read or seen anything like that yet, but maybe others here know of such cases?

If you are in socal and decide to redo the whole programs some community colleges have no waiting period. Everyone applies and are accepted based on the new point system.

That would be okay. It's just that to do a whole course again is more work and I am not sure if I can pass every class in the whole course work... hehhe

Really? The whole program? Damn, that's stressful to accept. Well, most of us are required to take MedSurg and OB. I'm sorry to know that from you. If I were in your place, I don't really know what to decide. I hope you can get into the program as soon as possible.

TBH, CA BRN ask me to the rn program as well but with out deadline, right now I'm a LVN and working as well. I'm planning to go back to school and do the lvm-rn bridge since I already have more than a year of working experience as lvn. I'm still looking for a school tho. I'm in cali right now.
