Bridging Program in Australia

World Registration

Published

Hi. I am new here. I don't know exactly where to go. I am a registered nurse here in the Philippines and I am interested in studying in Australia for a bridging course that will help me become a registered nurse there. I need some help on looking for a good school that offers a bridging course.

My aunt told me that a friend of her friend just went to AU to take up a test and in 6 months she's there for a bridging program. and I have this friend who has a friend who became a registered nurse in AU in 6 months time too. This agency is offering me to study for a certificate III aged care with occupational English test for 46 weeks in Einstein College but it costs too much. So now, I am trying to look for a school wherein I can apply by myself and hopefully get in. I am hoping I could leave for AU this June 2011. I am a bit lost on what to do. Can you help me, please? Any suggestions? ? Please help me. Thank you very much. :clown:

(Sydney area would be better since my parents are more familiar and in favor of that place... though other cities/areas will be great too)

Just for a student visa/business for bridging course you will need IELTS 7 one sitting academic, Bridging course 7 ielts academic and to be assessed by AHPRA 7 ielts academic. If lucky enough to get a sponsorship or you want to apply for independed migration, 7 ielts academic.

Look at the threads here for all infomation, yes, as all RN's in Australia are supposed to be strong in researching ourselveson all that we do not know, before we ask others.

"i have an overall 8 individual Reading 8.5,Listening 8.5,Writing 7.5,Speaking 7.5...thats 8 in all.

i gave my test in india."

That's his IELTS score - I should send people failing their IELTS to India

^ You do know that the IELTS exam is judged by international standards following strict guidelines.

The fact that his reading and listening scores are near perfect doesn't mean it's easier where he took it. The questionnaire and the answer key remains the same anywhere the test is taken.

Hello :)

Let me get this straight

1.) I'm a non-university graduate, a recent board passer, and I don't have a working experience yet. But I can still file for assessment to AHPRA?

2.) To pass may assessment to AHPRA, I first need to get a 7 in IELTS?

3.) When i'm approved/eligible already: I will then be given the chance to choose a BP school that I want?

When i'm not eligible: The money will be returned and I would have no choice but to file for assessment again to AHPRA?

Did i get it right? can anyone please correct what i listed down :o

thank you!! :)

Hi everyone!

Please don't judge.

Please don't hate.

Honesly, I am having a hard time making my curriculum vitae based on the standard CV Format AHPRA posted in their website. I have zero nursing experience. I am a fresh graduate and a recent July 2011 passer.

I hope anyone would be kind enough to share to me their CV. I'll greatly appreciate your help.

Sorry if this too much but I am really having a hard time. Hope someone will share their CV. :)

*Hoping.

God bless everyone! especially to us, fresh nurses. :)

Hi mikeyrho...im new here, like the rest i wanted also to be guided by this AHPRA registration... How did you about your CV particularly the Statement of Service? Did you ask previous employer to issue you employment certificate with format as AHPRA stated, like stating whether you did full time or part time etc? or did you just passed what they issued to you? apparently that's my problem right now.

thanks for the help! :) Good Day :)

1. You need a minimum of 3 months working experience as per recency of practice standard

2. yes

3. You must meet each BP provider's requirements

When not eligible, you will not get your money back. You can apply again but you will have to pay for another assessment.

Hello destiny05....with regards to the COE, Ive requested it from my former employer to put statements according to the standards required by AHPRA, like Full time registered nurse etc etc. In addition, Ive also mentioned in the last part of the certification that Im applying for the Registration to the Nursing and Midwifery board of Australia. In my CV, Ive included clinical procedures in a tabular form and check if competent or observed. In addition, I requested my head nurse to acknowledge my skills. If you still have any questions just feel free to ask....your welcome.....
