Bridging Program in Australia

World Registration

Published

Hi. I am new here. I don't know exactly where to go. I am a registered nurse here in the Philippines and I am interested in studying in Australia for a bridging course that will help me become a registered nurse there. I need some help on looking for a good school that offers a bridging course.

My aunt told me that a friend of her friend just went to AU to take up a test and in 6 months she's there for a bridging program. and I have this friend who has a friend who became a registered nurse in AU in 6 months time too. This agency is offering me to study for a certificate III aged care with occupational English test for 46 weeks in Einstein College but it costs too much. So now, I am trying to look for a school wherein I can apply by myself and hopefully get in. I am hoping I could leave for AU this June 2011. I am a bit lost on what to do. Can you help me, please? Any suggestions? ? Please help me. Thank you very much. :clown:

(Sydney area would be better since my parents are more familiar and in favor of that place... though other cities/areas will be great too)

suppose i apply at Queensland office...then, am i eligible to work in any state of preference in Australia?

Yes, it took a year for my application to get the approval. There were no questions nor additional requirements requested from me. It just took so long:crying2:. According to my agent, a lot of applicants were already complaining :down:about the way they handle the applications. Some case managers took a leave, some resigned.... The case manager handling my application resigned, leaving my papers steady for quite sometime. I had to wait for another manager to handle my application (and that took months!):uhoh3:

Once you get the approval from AHPRA (any state), you can choose a state where you want to take your Bridging Course. If you pass the program, you can work any where in Australia. :yeah::twocents:

Do you have relatives in Australia? They can be of big help in lodging your application. Agents are also helpful. My agent is based in Australia. We just communicate through skype. :)

no i don't have any relative there..but i do have known friends..

by what you have said i guess i better apply to Queensland office.

did you do your bridging program?and for this ...did you approach an agent or is it self research?

currently i stay in Dubai..and here we do not have agents who deal with bridging programs and registration like in India

anyways thank you soo much:thankya:

hi, i am new here.. I already have my eligibility letter from ahpra and already sent an application for bridging program in IHNA/VCHN. They replied and asked for IELTS and recommend to enroll in their online course which is Introduction of Bridging Course Program. My concern is: Is it a trend nowadays to apply for a preparatory course like I mentioned for a nurse to qualify to a Bridging Course Program?

hi jayvincible! congratulations! i'm interested to become a registered nurse in australia too. can u please help me? can u tell me what are the requirements you passed to ahpra? did u also have a work experience? i hope ull reply to me. i just passed the july 2011 nle. thank you very much!

You don't need your dad to submit the paperwork to AHPRA. You should be able to submit the forms without disturbing your dad. You can apply at any of their offices. Here's the link

http://www.ahpra.gov.au/About-AHPRA/Contact-Us.aspx

Use AGOS-40. You'll also find your requirements there.

Thank you for this info. Starting to read the form and figuring out what documents should i present.

Yes, approach an agent to do all your research and applications, you will need it!

When people apply for AHPRA, does it always follow that they get an agent? 'cause i was thinking of doing it by myself (if that's possible):)

You don't need an agent when you can do it yourself. :)

Just for a student visa/business for bridging course you will need IELTS 7 one sitting academic, Bridging course 7 ielts academic and to be assessed by AHPRA 7 ielts academic. If lucky enough to get a sponsorship or you want to apply for independed migration, 7 ielts academic.

Look at the threads here for all infomation, yes, as all RN's in Australia are supposed to be strong in researching ourselveson all that we do not know, before we ask others.
