Bridging Program in Australia

World Registration

Published

Hi. I am new here. I don't know exactly where to go. I am a registered nurse here in the Philippines and I am interested in studying in Australia for a bridging course that will help me become a registered nurse there. I need some help on looking for a good school that offers a bridging course.

My aunt told me that a friend of her friend just went to AU to take up a test and in 6 months she's there for a bridging program. and I have this friend who has a friend who became a registered nurse in AU in 6 months time too. This agency is offering me to study for a certificate III aged care with occupational English test for 46 weeks in Einstein College but it costs too much. So now, I am trying to look for a school wherein I can apply by myself and hopefully get in. I am hoping I could leave for AU this June 2011. I am a bit lost on what to do. Can you help me, please? Any suggestions? ? Please help me. Thank you very much. :clown:

(Sydney area would be better since my parents are more familiar and in favor of that place... though other cities/areas will be great too)

The 456 visa. Is it true you can get it in two weeks?

Hi! is there any difference between 456 visa and the student visa?:)

What will happen after the B.P course and our visa is about to expire and lastly no sponsor yet?

Any chance for us to be sent home after B.P??:roflmao: :)

About two months..

hi cheerup! have you decided whether you're going to accept the december or not? i am for december but i don't know yet if i still can catch up with visa and retaking the ielts exam. my agent informed me just this monday that i am advised to take again since my ielts will expire this december.. i got disappointed with them since they never told me ahead of time. i was supposedly for october but got problems then rescheduled it for december.

hey there! i have a problem also. i was offered a slot for dec intake as well. I have accepted the offer however I was not able to settle the payment as soon as possible due to the holidays last week. when I was able to do so they told me that the dec intake is full already. in your case, did you pay the tuition fee even without the offer letter yet for december since you were originally for october intake right? i just want to secure a slot for the next intake.

hope you could enlighten me. thanks.

1. They do refuse an application, but you will be given the chance to counter the decision.

2. If you do not meet the requirements.

3. It depends where you lodged your application. Some got theirs in as early as one month, some unfortunate were granted after a year.

yes, i settled my payment first week of sept, if i remember it right, through my agency. have you tried calling them if you could still be given the slot? or tell them that you will be on the waiting list, just in case someone will back out. :)

I called them up the other day they told me the places have been filled up. How long did it take you to receive the new offer letter? And did they issue a confirmation of enrollment upon receiving the payment?

Thank you for giving me an idea to be put in the waiting list. :D

I lodged the 456 visa cause I think it could be received the fastest. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I think the difference between the two is the longevity of ones stay in Australia, the 456 Is shorter compared to the student visa. Well I think there is a bridging visa you can get after the 3rd month because we have to wait for our registration number so it could give us time to scout for a job if ever we haven't found any during the 3 month stay. Well there is really no assurance, but I guess we just need to take a risk in order to figure it out. :)
