Hi sbeattrix,
I have asked my former classmate who finished her bridging course at Alpine Health last year. She said the accommodation of $5500 is just too expensive when in fact flats in rural areas are cheaper compared to those in the city. She told me that students will be rotated to 3 different hospitals in Myrtleford, Bright, and Mt. Beauty. Transportation wise, it is quite hard because the bus particularly the one that travels to Mt. Beauty has a single trip per week. I guess that's the reason why it's expensive. If you try to search the map of those 3 areas, they are not that really close to each other. Other than that, when she had her bridging last year, some of her classmates were provided with cars by the hospital so that they could travel easily to their placements. When I had my interview, the principal asked me whether I knew how to drive. I guess, they will also provide cars during the course period. I searched on gumtree regarding accommodations on those 3 areas and I only saw one which was on Bright. None in Myrtleford and Mt. Beauty. - Mar 7 by jb_101Quote from kharinehI think yes. Because they contacted me before informing me that my application was incomplete then because of a lacking dose, and a need to present a medical certificate for chickenpox. Once you lodge your application, they will email you if you have deficiencies. You can inform your doctor to note the date of the next dose on the medical certificate so that they will be aware that you are already complying with their immunization reqs.Hi,
I am planning to pass my application to CON but i still haven't completed the required immunizations yet. is it a must to complete it before sending my application? - Mar 7 by kharinehQuote from jb_101hi jb_101,I think yes. thank you for answering my question.
do i still need to provide a medical certificate for chicken pox or it is enough to show a proof that i had my varicella vaccine? is it true that it takes months for CON to respond? - Mar 7 by MIKE_1970i have been waiting for almost 2 months already, have written numerous mails for the updates but so far gotten the same answer:"be advised to wait until the final decision ".As far as i understand they are swamped with incoming applications.
- Mar 7 by jb_101Quote from kharinehIf you already had chickenpox before you can submit a medical certificate for it because it is an acceptable evidence for varicella. A proof of received varicella vaccine is also acceptable as evidence. Have you tried downloading the NSW Information booklet (the link can be found at CONs website) about immunization? All acceptable evidences are stated there and as well as the forms you need to submit to ACN/CON.hi jb_101,

They will respond to you after few days upon receipt of your application and will notify you if you need to comply something. But in terms of the informing the students about the outcome of the application, yes it will take months because of the huge number of applications they received. My application was lodged September 2012 and I was just informed this February 2013 about the outcome of my application. - Mar 7 by MIKE_1970Quote from jb_101and what was the outcome??????If you already had chickenpox before you can submit a medical certificate for it because it is an acceptable evidence for varicella.
