Hi everyone,

I am josh, a fresh grad from the philippines.

I just recently read on this site that arizona is included in the concurrency issue. Now I am a little afraid that I might get denied. I have already purchased a CGFNS-CES and just today the report was issued with meets all program requirements, comparable to BSN in the US. Tomorrow, I will be sending my application to AZBN. The reason I applied in arizona was because of catfish fishing! And cheap housing. Second is 3 of my schoolmates who graduated october of 2012 passed the arizona nclex Feb 2013. So that gives me hope. Just sharing guys. Will update this post as soon as possible. If you have any questions, or are interested in applying in arizona, i might be able to answer some of your questions. =) i have been in contact with their representative for international graduates. Do you think i should ask her about the concurrency issue?

Hello Everyone- I am British and my spouse is American. We were thinking of moving to California, but obviously with all of the concurrency issues I can not get my RN license there. Im just wondering if I will have the same issues if I apply in AZ? I have been a nurse for 8 years and have a diploma degree from UK. I do not have Mental Health, Obstetrics or Pediatrics training. If I am not eligible to obtain my RN license in AZ due to these deficiencies, where can I take these classes quickly? Please feel free to send me PM to [email protected]- Holly

All US nurses are generalist trained. As far as I know there are no schools in the UK that will allow you to make up deficiencies in those areas. It will be very difficult (not impossible but difficult and likely expensive) to find a US nursing school that will permit you to take clinical and theory in psych, OB& pedi. Some schools it will be impossible without enrolling in the full program if the subject matter is integrated throughout the school curriculum. You can try contacting schools approved by AZ BoN ( listed on the AZ BoN website) to see if they can accommodate you but your assessment will be deemed deficient by CGFNS and application denied by AZ BoN for not meeting minimum educational requirements if your credentials are submitted as is. This is the same issue you would face in CA or any other US state. CA (and some other states ) also will not even consider your application without a valid US social security number

Hey bud, I just got here in arizona. I already applied for CGFNS CES and was already mailed to them. I didn't see you putting info about English proficiency. Did you take IELTS or TOEFL? and applied for NCLEX? Thanks for your time and patience kabayan. :D

I'm planning to endorse my RN license to AZ from FL. I had a thread here but nobody replies. Hopefully in this thread someone can help me. Just asking if TOELF/IELTS is required for endorsement to AZ. Thanks

Any updates on obtaining a license in Arizona? Are they in fact enforcing these concurrency issues like CA?
