World Registration

Hi, was just wondering if anyone else here is applying as a nurse in Norway??

I am leaving on sept 8 and want to get in touch with other nurses who is planning/hoping to work in Norway..

Please send me an email or pm

Thanks :-)

Hi there! I had my assessment in 2006. And I believe that rules changed already re: assessment. I remember applying for RN eligibility last 2006, they greatly emphasized on my job experience because I think that is a additional point for the assessment, for how many years it needs? I dont know. I remember sending the SAFH my 1 year clinical nurse-experience post registration. Even with that I was found ineligible for a License... There is no National Exam to be a nurse in Norway. I was instructed to do the bridging. It varies of course. I needed to do 8 weeks practice in Psychiatry and 8 weeks in a Home for the Aged. But before you start those practices required, you have to be enrolled to a University. I was enrolled at the Stavanger University and did a 3-week Nasjonalefag kurs. Thats costs 2500 kroner that time.

It will costs alot of your time and money if you dont know anyone in Norway who is willing to accomodate you. My time frame for a new applicant could be from 1 year to 2 years. It is a non english speaking country and 0% corruption :yeah: so jobs under-the-table is very rare.......

thank you very much for your help..:heartbeat:heartbeat:redpinkhe:heartbeat:heartbeat

Hello guys!

After sending my requirements at SAFH they replied (thru mail,as always.) that i needed to have my passport copy, COE and Certificate of Registration in Nursing be certified as true copy from the original.

It was really my bad that i ONLY sent an Authenticated copy of my COE, Training/Seminar certificates and Authenticated School Documents except for the documents requested. However, they indicated on the letter that they require that this documents be and should bear/attested with the CERTIFIED TRUE COPY SEAL.

Would they accept Attestation from a LAWYER or a NOTARY PUBLIC? Do I have to have it Authenticated by DFA after the attestation? or the Lawyer's/Notary Public Seal is enough? I had it attested by a lawyer but I'm hesitating if having it Authenticated is way too much.

I need your advise/opinions on this pleaseee....... Sending a document to Norway via mail/courier is so expensive so i have to make sure that I finish everything just as they require and they gave me a deadline until July 1, 2011 only.

Thanks in advance!!!

Hi. I had my COE in the Philippines authenticated by a lawyer over there. Actually they would accept the document as long as it is authenticated as a copy of the original by a police officer or any public official. I had a document authenticated here in Canada by a Lawyer that was accepted by the Tax Office in Norway :) The seal and the signature must be visible :D

Anyone here who have sent their application to safh?

God Bless to all applicants! :)

Hi, Bergen Helsevikar in Norwaydo not hire on a permanent basis as they only get temp jobs, but they pay higher salaries than anyone else in Bergen, Norway. It works like this: They get a temp job ranging from 1 day and up to 6 months. they contact their emplyees, and whoever answers first gets the job. If you are willing to work hard, you will make more than a nurse working full time.

PS: This summer they told me they have more jobs than nurses, and are in serious need for good health care prosfessionals that speak norwegian to cover all the jobs they get

Hi Rune. You help these international nurses get their working permits too?

PS: This summer they told me they have more jobs than nurses, and are in serious need for good health care prosfessionals that speak norwegian to cover all the jobs they get

They key phrases are "this summer" which is like four weeks away and "speak Norwegian" which isn't learnt overnight.

Nobody should build their dreams around this.

Hello seaciel!

here's my timeline:

Nov. 2010- sent all the documents to SAFH

Dec. 2010- 3rd week of December, I received a letter from SAFH informing me of the fee to be paid.

January 4, 2011- paid the fee.

April 2011- (2nd week, can't remember the specific date) received a letter informing me that they need a copy of my passport copy, certificate of employment and Board Certification from nursing to be certified by a lawyer (or notary public, educational institution, authorizing body or any person stated on their guidelines.) on each page. I sent a copy of it authenticated by DFA but, according to their guidelines, each page should be certified with an official seal and stamp. They gave me 3 months time to process the papers that they need. All those papers are due on or before July, 01, 2011.

Hope this one helps. Will update you soon. Godbless!
