World Registration

hey guys, I just got my letter from CA-BRN and same concurrency issues apply to those who were in the new curriculum so my batch mate and I decided to just apply for NCLEX-RN in Texas.

Does anybody know the step by step process of applying? I already looked up the website but the forms are a bit confusing..which ones do i fill up?? and what other tests do i have to take to be eligible?? CGFNS, jurisdiction, what else..?

Please HELP!

hey there Roxnhei. The CA BRN denied your application due to non concurrent cases? If I may ask did the state mention any lack of hours or subjects? Here is a link to the application form TEXAS for the NCLEX RN. You should read page 6 of 8 bottom portion. http://www.bon.texas.gov/olv/pdfs/rnexam.pdf

I've been talking to a graduate from the Philippines whose "friend" was given an ATT. If you read from page 6 to 7 you can not be given a license if you did not complete the Foreign Educated Nurse(FENS) refresher course which is a 120 hours of lecture and 120 hours of clinical practice.

Best of luck to you and your friend. =)

something to clarify, so yeah you can probably get an ATT before completing the FENS and pass the exam. If you did pass the NCLEX but did not complete the 120 lecture and 120 clinical hours, your won't be issued a license until you do so.

FENS is only required if you don't have a license from the country your were trained AND you have NOT worked for two(2) years

*To all readers my basis are from the application form.

Okay, I am a fresh graduate last April so I haven't really worked yet. Now i'm trying to apply for New York, do you know the process for that? I'm looking at their website right now and I think I need to go through the CGFNS CVS to be eligible? is that the only thing i need? plus the payments and application form..wat else though..

once CVS is completed you still need to submit application form to New York BON. Process takes approx 6-8 months and unless you plan on working in NY I would not recommend going this route.

What? Huh? I thought you were in the newest curriculum batch that the CHED had already "fixed"? Sorry to hear that you guys got rejected, I know that feeling.

So much for the CHED stories claiming the courses were straighten out, but maybe those graduating in 2013 will be "safe". But at the same time, I've been hearing that they reduced the hours so it's possible yes, the concurrency is settled, but not may be lacking in the minimum required hours needed to the USA standards, if that's where one plans to work in.
