You know, that's not a lot different from people wetting their contacts with saliva. I know, I know, they aren't supposed to do that either. But still.

Even worse if you weren't aware/prepared the patient even had a prosthetic eye, yes?

A couple years ago, a brand-new RN friend had her first code in the ICU. She was super excited that the code team was going to 'let' her do CPR. First compression, guy's prosthetic eye pops out and rolls out into the hall!

Numerous times....no biggie. However, years ago when I was an aide I cared for a lady who used to evacuate her bowels with a black plastic digital stimulator which she stored in a denture cup---which she kept in the bathroom on the sink right beside her other denture cup.Get where I am going with this? I also (more recently) cared for a gal who used to just use her finger for that job. One of the aides saw her lick the dirty finger to lubricate it and go in for a second sweep. Who is laughing now?
