Nurses Relations

Ok. I take public transportation to work. No biggy. I have a co-worker of mine who likes to tell the staff that i don't drive and take the light rail/bus. Its not a big issue but I find his manner sort of rude and intrusive.
Any suggestions?

I walk to work and i get some odd looks- 'you walk to work, why?' 'seriously, you walk to work, dont you drive'? or other such comments from someone who is 20 minutes late to work because they couldnt get a parking space/the roads were busy/petrol station was busyYes, god gave me a pair of fully functioning legs so i use them to save what little money i get-i'll admit im shattered after a long/hard shift but hey its quicker/warmer/cleaner than getting the bus and im doing my bit for the enviroment

I think people laught because of the idea of being cheap...I remember when I took a microbiology in college, there was an orthodox jewish lady who took a bike to to school everyday...everyone was talking about her and laughing behind her back,I think she was going through a divorce with her husband...I dont know she was strange,I didnt like her anyway...Me on the other hand I spend too much money...

Sounds like he's just trying to "get your goat" so to speak. I would just ignore him, or, as some have suggested, ask him what it is about you riding the bus that so intrigues him that he must mention it in front of others often.

Hey, go for it! I've had comebacks take that long. Heck, I'm still working on a zinger from 1985 when the Preacher said,"Do you take this woman..."

I take the train to work but so do a lot of people I work with. I am not sure why your co-worker is concerned with how you get to work. It's expensive to drive, I second asking how much he spends on gas and parking!
