UNC Chapel Hill (Spring 2010) January 2010 - Anyone Receive Word?

U.S.A. North Carolina

Published

Just checking, I posted a response in a separate thread, but thought a new thread could hold its own.

I applied to UNC Chapel Hill's Nursing Program for January 2010. BSN Program, not ABSN. Already, I have received two confirmations from students that have received acceptance yesterday into the ABSN program.

1. Has anyone received word about their acceptance into either the ABSN or BSN program?

2. Has anyone received word regarding "no offer" of acceptance? And, if so, what are your plans going forward if you did not receive an offer.

I am obviously anxious and waiting for a response. Just checking to see if anyone else is in the same boat.

Thanks and good luck, everyone! :)

Congrats, allimar, C2C and cschurch! I look forward to meeting you guys sometime soon! and c2c i had my bubbly yesterday, but i'll definitely have a few for us this weekend ;-)

Allimar, if you need recommendations and/or help with anything to get yourself settled in the chapel Hill area, let me know! I've lived here since 2003 and did my undergrad work at UNC, so I am pretty familiar with the area :)

Fingers still crossed for everyone else. I hate the waiting process that we all have to endure!

Nothing today. Anyone else hear either way? Nobody has posted that they got waitlisted or rejected.

Nothing today either

Nothing yet for me either. I have a feeling they will tell me :nono: but I will let you know my status either way!

Nothing today for me either. Let's hope tomorrow is the day for everybody.

:banghead:

Hey everyone...I got my acceptance letter yesterday, and it was postmarked on Monday. It was sent to my house in NC which is in Apex..I am trying to get in touch with someone about deferring until May because we just found out that my father was diagnosed with cancer. I was told that they will only defer due to extreme circumstances. Well I will have to see what they say. Congrats to everyone!!!

Congrats Renee!

Thanks, I actually graduated from NCSTATE so I'm from the Raleigh area. I think I might be commuting from Raleigh to Chapel Hill since I really hate to pack and move when it's so close. I'm not familiar with Chapel Hill campus and last time I was there- it was chaotic since there was so much construction going on with the streets. Do you know if there is parking available for commuters?

sadly, the parking will be the biggest pain in our sides. you can attempt the lottery for a parking permit, but even if you get one, they're rather expensive. and, the parking you get, from what i understand, is so far away from the building where we will be taking courses, you may as well just use the park and ride lots. mind you, you must obtain a 'free' park n ride pass to park your car in these lots.

i actually picked up one of these passes back in august. check out the website and sign up using your student i.d. number.

as for scooters, i do not believe unc allows the parking of scooters on campus next do the bicycle racks anymore. i respectfully disagree with that decision, but it is what it is at the moment. you can buy a motorcycle permit for a scooter, but you must park it where a person parks a motorcycle. however, many students are concerned that they could get ripped off or damaged parking in the few motorcycle areas available. i thought of buying a scooter, but that's out of the question now. i'm parking in the park-n-ride and wait for the commuter bus. inconvenient, and takes up more time in what will already be a busy, busy day. allow yourself plenty of time to get to class.

Allimar-

I will be commuting from North Raleigh. My sister is going to UNC right now so I am going to ask her if commuters have a special lot, etc. I am going to the Nov. 30 preorientation but I am wondering if I could get on a waiting list before then? hmm.... I am going to work on that next week.
