Just checking, I posted a response in a separate thread, but thought a new thread could hold its own.

I applied to UNC Chapel Hill's Nursing Program for January 2010. BSN Program, not ABSN. Already, I have received two confirmations from students that have received acceptance yesterday into the ABSN program.

1. Has anyone received word about their acceptance into either the ABSN or BSN program?

2. Has anyone received word regarding "no offer" of acceptance? And, if so, what are your plans going forward if you did not receive an offer.

I am obviously anxious and waiting for a response. Just checking to see if anyone else is in the same boat.

Thanks and good luck, everyone! :)

Hi. I also have applied to the BSN (not ABSN) program for January 2010 entry. I have not received any notification yet. I also live here in NC. Hopefully we will receive our letters this next week. I am on pins and needles waiting. Good luck!

Much luck and success to you, Noah's Mom. Keep my fingers crossed for everyone across the board. Thus far, I know three who have told me they have received letters confirming acceptance into the ABSN program. No rejections that I know of yet. Nor any BSN confirmation, including my own. I'll post more when I find out more. :)

Hi! I also applied to the BSN program at UNC Chapel Hill...I am awaiting a reply. I did call them and they said it will be a letter through the mail in mid-November...I tried to get a date but that is all they told me :(

I will let you know if I receive a letter. Maybe they are sending all of the ASBN first and then on to the BSN. Good luck guys!!!

That's what a number of us are figuring. ABSN's sent out first, then the wave of BSN's. Nothing in the mail today, though. When you called, did you call the nursing department and did you do it last week?

Yes, I spoke to the Nursing dept. and I called last week. So I am assuming letters will go out this week, since it is almost mid-November. Let me know if you hear something, and I will stay in touch!

Hello everyone!

I likewise applied for BSN 2010 admittance and have not heard anything yet - I live in Chapel Hill, about four miles from the school. I was waitlisted in the spring application round (for admittance in May 2009), so I'm REALLY anxious to hear this time around!

I also spoke to the nursing school last week, and they said that there were some problems with the new application procedure (it was a little different this time around). They said that notifications would start to be mailed out "probably" late last week and early this week.

Best of luck to you all!

You were waitlisted? I did not know UNC offered that possibility? I heard any notification was either a yes or a no. I am assuming the wait list did not come through or that you had other obligations that changed your mind, but did they tell you where you were on the list? And, if the choice wasn't yours, did you ask them why you did not make it the first round.

I checked my mailbox today. Nothing just yet. No word yet from any BSN applicants. About three that I know of have been accepted into the ABSN program. I am hoping this is merely a delay for BSN applicants. But, having read an ABSN applicant hasn't received anything yet, I hope there is simply a general delay. I'll be eagerly checking my mailbox tomorrow afternoon, though.

There definitely is a waitlist. No, I unfortunately didn't get in through the waitlist in spring! And yes, I did meet with the associate dean afterward to discuss my application and how I could improve it for the next cycle (if you are not accepted and you really want to go to UNC, I highly suggest you do this...she's a wonderful woman who offers good advice!). The only thing that she said prevented my acceptance was that I was not finished with physiology - I was enrolled in that class at UNC when I applied. That is now a prerequisite that must be completed at the time of application. The application cycle during which I first applied was the last cycle that that requirement was not implemented, but I think that class just carries so much weight, and with good reason - it's a very important one for nursing! It is possible to get accepted without having your prerequisites completed, but I have heard it's not that common.

Here's hoping we all hear something soon!

I applied for UNC Jan 2010 ABSN and haven't heard anything yet. The waiting is driving me insane!

I applied for the BSN and currently taking Micro as my only pre-req. This is one that I could still have left to take before applying and I am hoping this doesn't prevent me from getting accepted since apparently it's not common.

I also heard for Undergrad applications, they email you in addition to a written letter. Does anybody know if this is the case for Nursing?

Good luck everybody!

Hey guys-

I posted this on another thread but I thought I would let you guys know that I got accepted to the Spring ABSN program. November 18th is the respond by date and Nov. 30 is the first pre-orientation day. I will be going to the Nov. 30 pre-orientation because I am just so excited. I hate that there are others still waiting. I want to celebrate with you guys!

I did not get an email just a letter from the School of Nursing.

Hopefully since everyone has to respond so quickly to Carolina that others will start to find out!!!!

I heard Nov. 7th which was last Saturday.
