Anyone applying for Spring 2012 Gtech or Ftech adn program? The deadlines are fast approaching and I would like to compare points etc since this is the first semester to enter using the TEAS V. I have around 150 points at Ftch...anyone applying now have something similar? More? Less? My nerves are about to get the best of me if the deadline doesn't roll around soon!! :uhoh3:

I emailed her and got some strange garbled email back so i emailed her from a different email address...my friend got her denial letter Saturday thats why i dont understand why i havent gotten SOMETHING at least...i did have between those points but i didnt do that great on the TEAS V

your Teas score was part of your points so that shouldn't be a huge deal... A friend of mine also had 155 points but hasn't heard anything. I find that kinda weird.

Thats exactly what I had as well...

I had 149 at forsyth and still haven't heard anything either. Just an FYI a girl in my A&P class spoke with SS and she was told that top points letters go out, they wait for them to respond, based on how many accept they then send out a second batch of acceptance (my guess is next highest points) and denials for lowest points, after they get the 2nd round of acceptance back they send out a certain number of alternates and then more denials based on how many people accepted. Hope this helps? It helped me even though I am going with Gtcc-

Hon i'm sorry to hear that... I would really try and get in touch with someone to find out why you weren't accepted. especially since you had the amount of points they said they did accept.

annabanana1...I got a little frustrated with FTCC about my transcript evaluations because I had a BS in Biology and had a lot of transfer credit. On my techlink, 3 classes were not showing up so I went to admissions to find out what the problem was. She, then, sent me to Records where I had to fill out a form to request them to RE-EVALUATE my transcripts. On the first attempt, they found my A&P I & II but not my computer class. I, then, had to go BACK to Records and request them to do it again!!! On the sheet, I put down exactly what semester I took it, the name of the course & what it should transfer as. Finally, they got it right and all of the classes showed up on my academic profile - program evaulation under techlink. If I wouldn't have caught this mistake, I would have been out of almost 30 points!! Just a heads up...hope you got everything figured out.

Kay51, I am almost done with my acceptance stuff...just got my Varicella (chicken pox) blood titer done this morning. I already had one TB done for work (they wouldn't give me another one, ha!) So I had to get my family dr to give me the 2nd one. I go back Thursday morning to get my TB read & the lab report for the titer. Can't believe orientation is only ONE week away...so excited!! I really hope we get in the same section. I was trying to figure out how they do it...with 72 of us, (looking at previous NUR course sections) it looks like they divide us up into 6 groups of 12. Schedule doesn't look bad for the Spring if it's pretty much like last spring. :)

Yeah, only thing I have left now is my physical (my appointment is next week). I'm just ready to go to orientation so we can find out or schedules and stuff then it will actually same more "real" lol... I also heard that they split us up into sections, I wonder how they determine who gets what section?

Makes me wonder if they will split us up into sections by last name....I hope not because we probably wouldn't be together. I hope it's just random. We will have to meet up outside the building somewhere before 2 so we can sit together for the 3 hours!! haha

I hope its just random too! n yeah we definatly need to make arrangements to meet up somewhere before time to go.

Hey guys, I'm tentatively scheduled to graduate in May from FTCC. Your first semester you will pick #'s to decide your section (draw from a hat). From then on they just put you in a clinical group each semester. It's very tough. You'll have to dedicate your whole life to it. Social life, cleaning your house, sometimes even sleeping comes second to school. As tough as it is to get in, it's even tougher to stay in. Make good grades from the get go so you don't have to go into final having to make a big grade cause it'll give you grey hairs. I promise. Lay low and expect to feel stupid for the duration of the program...because you are. So much to learn in such little time. I'd read all about the nursing process - assessment - diagnosis - planning - interventions - evaluation... youtube videos on how to give intradermal, subcutaneous, intramuscular shots. etc. You will learn, learn learn. Nursing school = your life. I remember being this excited.. its refreshing to see again. You can do anything you want to, but be prepared..because it takes 100% commitment. You have to read and you have to study - a lot. Oh, and you'll probably be broke at some point.. LOL... Good luck to all of you. :)
