  1. I also applied for the WHCNP Fall 2018, Class 178. Anxiously awaiting... Good luck to you all!
  2. They did give us a list of supplies we will need: books, lab kit, uniforms which are white tops, blue bottoms (thank God they aren't white pants anymore!) and we got our Fall schedule. That was about all last night. We got out an hour early (only there for 2 hours :))
  3. It went well...the 3 of us that are on this forum got into the same section together so that was nice! They actually gave us an opportunity to switch sections with each other if we wanted which shocked me. I think there were 3 numbers left which means 3 people didn't show up. We go back Jan. 4 for another orientation before class starts. When do you go for GTCC?
  4. Thanks MandaTaye! It's nice to hear from people that have done or are going thru the program. I agree that you can do whatever you're willing to do...just gotta stick with it & try to start off with good grades...We will definitely make sacrifices but it'll be worth it in the end. Spending time studying instead of spending time with my 2 young kids will be the hardest thing for me. I know that going back to school is only going to better their future though...little sacrifice now will help them out (all of us) later. Thanks for the info...hope I draw a good number today! Happy Orientation day to the FTCC folks!! See ya at 2 :)
  5. Makes me wonder if they will split us up into sections by last name....I hope not because we probably wouldn't be together. I hope it's just random. We will have to meet up outside the building somewhere before 2 so we can sit together for the 3 hours!! haha
  6. Kay51, I am almost done with my acceptance stuff...just got my Varicella (chicken pox) blood titer done this morning. I already had one TB done for work (they wouldn't give me another one, ha!) So I had to get my family dr to give me the 2nd one. I go back Thursday morning to get my TB read & the lab report for the titer. Can't believe orientation is only ONE week away...so excited!! I really hope we get in the same section. I was trying to figure out how they do it...with 72 of us, (looking at previous NUR course sections) it looks like they divide us up into 6 groups of 12. Schedule doesn't look bad for the Spring if it's pretty much like last spring. :)
  7. annabanana1...I got a little frustrated with FTCC about my transcript evaluations because I had a BS in Biology and had a lot of transfer credit. On my techlink, 3 classes were not showing up so I went to admissions to find out what the problem was. She, then, sent me to Records where I had to fill out a form to request them to RE-EVALUATE my transcripts. On the first attempt, they found my A&P I & II but not my computer class. I, then, had to go BACK to Records and request them to do it again!!! On the sheet, I put down exactly what semester I took it, the name of the course & what it should transfer as. Finally, they got it right and all of the classes showed up on my academic profile - program evaulation under techlink. If I wouldn't have caught this mistake, I would have been out of almost 30 points!! Just a heads up...hope you got everything figured out.
  8. Kenthomas, Still nothing here in the mail today...
  9. Yeah...GTCC makes you come in & sit with an advisor to make sure you have the min. reqs. Then you get your TEAS pass. Once your done with your test, you meet with an advisor again to sign off on your points. (This is your chance to speak up if they missed any points....they can make mistakes!) FTCC doesn't require you to meet for the MAR anymore. But you have to be careful with them too when it comes to your points. I was a transfer student...so they evaulated my transcripts for transfer credit. I had go to the Records office TWO different times to request them to RE-EVAULATE my transcripts because they left off HA&P I & II (which gives the most pts out of the pre-reqs) and also the computer class. I checked this by logging into my techlink, and then My Academic Profile. It gives you an evaluation of your program in progress. Hope this helps.
  10. Oh Wow...That's crazy because don't they take the score right after you take the test? I'm glad you figured out the problem! Good luck to you...keep us updated!
  11. Hey Kayla! I will look you up on FB...my name is Dana Jasso. Can't wait for orientation and to get started! Woo hoo! mommy2fourkidz....are you on FB? Is there anyone else that is enrolling at FTCC? For school, does anyone know if they are going to split us up into sections? If so, I hope we get sectioned together!!
  12. I had 170 at FTCC and 61 at GTCC....gonna enroll with FTCC though because of the location.
  13. I work at Baptist too....have been for the past 6 years....didn't help me, haha.
  14. Congrats nyanbensmommy1!! So happy for you!! As for the points at GTCC....the only thing they use in the ranking (as far as I know) are the required course points and then the additional points that you can get ("B" or higher in Micro, etc.) I don't think they look at anything else. When you signed off on the points sheet, that should be your ranking score. As for a tie in points, maybe they would look at GPA or something. I'm not sure.
  15. I'm starting to see the disorganization that everyone warned me about...still nothing here good or bad. If I didn't get in, I at least want a letter saying Sorry you didn't get in. This is getting ridiculous.
