  1. I completed my BSN at WGU and was accepted to two FNP programs, and I was waitlisted at Frontier Nursing University. I can tell you that you would be considered to most FNP programs. The only problem as you already know is that your grade will be a flat 3.0 gpa. If the rest of your application is strong I don't think it matters too much. Schools I applied to: Clarkson College, University of Cincinnati, and Frontier Nursing University.
  2. Does anyone know if there is a group for the FNP program at Clarkson? I have been accepted to start Spring 2019 (January), and I really would like to connect with classmates, but I haven't had any luck.
  3. Hi all, I am having a hard time connecting with classmates accepted to the NP program at Clarkson College for Spring 2019. I was accepted to two other NP programs, but I have decided to go with Clarkson. I have only heard great things about Clarkson's NP program, and I am so excited to get started. For those of you who are currently in the program, do you guys have any suggestions how to connect with classmates? Thanks so much
  4. Hi Vincent12, I'm also an OR nurse and going to start NP school in January. Have you thought about areas you would be interested in working as an NP? I haven been accepted to two NP programs one is for WHNP and the other FNP. I am still debating if I will specialize and go with WHNP, so I have not decided yet if I will accept the FNP. Some areas I would like to work in as an FNP, are bariatrics, dermatology, and plastics. Since I do see myself venturing out of women's health, I am interested in the FNP track. I used to work with a couple of ladies in the OR that went to FNP school and now work in primary care. Primary care is an area I do not want to work in. Have you started applying to NP schools?
  5. Here is the link for the facebook group. Log into Facebook | Facebook I'm accepted to the WHNP program.
  6. Hi, We have a facebook group it is " University of South Alabama MSN Nurse Practitioner's class of Dec 2020" I actually applied to the DNP program, but joined this group. I applied to the FNP program.
  7. I applied to the FNP-DNP track. I received my acceptance email this morning :)
  8. Hi Cindy, I got waitlisted at FNU for this Fall. I'm hoping to get in for the Winter. Just in case I have applied to other schools one is University of South Alabama, it's an affordable online school with about two campus visits for the FNP program. Family Nurse Practitioner I would also check out University of Cincinnati, they offer an FNP program that is completely online. Cost is about 38k. Check them out. Good luck
  9. I was waitlisted for class 178 WHNP. Good luck to everyone!
  10. I applied and was accepted with a straight 3.0GPA from WGU. I did have strong references and I think my goal statement was decent.
  11. I live in WA, and I applied to the University of Cincinnati (UC) and Frontier Nursing University (FNU). I specifically applied to their WHNP program. UC's program is completely online, no campus visits. The cost is approximately $ 40K. It takes 2 years to complete the program if you attend full time. UC is ranked # 11. FNU is located in Kentucky and requires two campus visits. The cost is approximately $ 36K. It takes 2 years to complete the program if you take the accelerated route (3 classes per term). 2 years and 9 months if you attend full time ( 2 classes per term). Both programs are approved in the state of WA. The programs require you to find your own preceptors. (Most programs do)
  12. Hi, I attended WGU for my BSN! I found out today that I have been accepted to the WHNP program. Your chances are good!
  13. I'll keep you all updated when I hear something, but as of now I received the same email as you mentioned.
  14. Hi, I applied for Fall 2018. I also graduated from WGU! Once I hear from them I will let you know. I had 5 references, nurse manager, charge nurse, mentor from WGU, and two co-workers.
  15. Hi, I also applied to the WHNP at USA for Spring 2019. I have not heard anything as of now. The deadline is 07/15/18, and they make decisions 8 weeks after the deadline. Good luck to us! :)
