Hey everyone! I submitted my application to Duke University's ABSN program for fall 2013 a few weeks ago, so I wanted to get some conversation started! Is anyone else applying?!... Read More

Hey everyone! Does anyone else's application still say incomplete due to gre scores? I did not submit scores because of the gre waiver but it is making me nervous since the deadline has passed!

the healer's art, thanks for the tip. I did a lot of searching and found some good info. I guess we'll hear about interviews around the middle of the month. Can't wait!

I think people at admissions are still reviewing the application. They will update and change it to "completed" after they finish reviewing, so don't worry. I hope we hear back soon. The interview process seems intense, so it makes me nervous!

Hey guys, don't be nervous about the GRE score thing. I called awhile back and they told me to not worry about it and they know whether you need it or not but it will say that for awhile. I'm sure that they will contact you if it is missing and they need it from you. Mine still says "official test scores have not been received", so don't worry - and I have WELL over a 3.4! It's going to be fine. You can call them and ask if it makes you feel better! As long as everything else has been received I'm sure that it is fine.

Received an e-mail from my admissions officer today. The e-mail stated that my application had been reviewed and is complete. Applications will be sent out for faculty review after the new year. Tentative dates for ABSN interviews are Feb. 22, 25, and March 1, 2013.

That is so weird. I heard the tentative dates as Feb 22, March 1 and March 4. Hmm. I guess I'll aim for Feb 22 or March 1st just to be sure.

I can't believe we don't find out until March. I'll hear from my other schools ways before that. It will be really hard to know what to do...

Yeah, the timeline with Duke is very tough. I hope they make admission decisions shortly after the interviews.

I'm very concerned because the timeline doesn't really allow for making decisions between multiple schools, if any of us are lucky enough to be in that decision (which I'm sure most of us we will be choosing between a few schools). Having the ability to choose between schools is imperative when we are spending $72,000 on tuition and fees alone... when a student is spending money like that, it is important to take program fit, financial aid, cost of living, quality of living, and quality of program into account. And we need time to truly do that! I will be hearing from a few other schools I have applied to before I will have even interviewed at Duke (if lucky enough to receive an interview at Duke), and Duke is my first choice... and I'm worried because nothing is ever guaranteed. Duke is a very competitive program - and the thought of being in the position where I may have to turn down any school before hearing from Duke makes me VERY nervous. And I'm also not in the position to put down multiple $500 deposits to ensure my spot at multiple schools while I wait for Duke. So you could say I'm getting worried! I guess there's no need to worry until I'm actually in that position, but it still makes me very nervous. This application cycle has been stressful, exhausting, and EXPENSIVE... I really don't want to have to go through it again next year

hopefulnursr24, I'm feeling the same way. I will hear from one school within the next week, and another by the end of January. Duke is also my number one choice, but I also don't feel that I have the money to pay for multiple deposits either. I had to turn down an amazing offer from Emory last year because the program was so expensive, so this is my second time applying to nursing schools and I can vouch that it is not very fun going through all the stress again.
